Brexit Deal

The European Coal & Steel Treaty gave us an unprecedented period of peace given the horrors of two world wars in nearly 30 years and was based upon the same historical economic treaties that tied warring nations in the distant past.

I am not afraid to accept the political project has given people concern, but to argue the EU is not democratic is vacuous once you understand how the various bodies work together.

My regret is that the EU have not taken the threat of Brexit seriously enough and looked to reform the unpalatable aspects as the UK is not the only country to have its reservations.

But ideology aside, the great shame is how much energy has been spent on so little financially speaking, when the debate should be focussed on our NHS, schooling, policing, environment. Matters that actually have far greater relevance to our day to day lives and indeed our future.

Check out https://euworthit.uk/

In my case the bottom line is £100pa. I am sure there are others here who are financially affected by a far greater amount but ask yourself whether or not the impact on your pocket justifies the diatribe, the hate, the impact on our social fabric.

And whether or not the financial impact will wipe out this saving at least in our lifetimes.

Interesting how a lot of you are saying the majority of people you know are all Brexiters.

I don’t know of a single Brexiter in my circle of friends or colleagues. But maybe it is just because I am in central London.

Someone was also telling me that the vast majority of brexit voters were part of the aging population and since the two years have passed they are no longer here and so the actual balance of the people who voted is now surpassed by the younger generation who voted stay .....

Something needs to be done .... we can’t hang in limbo. Though I do fear if we went for a 2nd ref the outcome would be the same.

And I can’t see us negotiating a deal that parliament would sign off. As labour wont vote for the conservatives and there aren’t enough brexiters within the conservatives to get a yes majority.

But what do I know.

The answer is simple.

1. Due to the politico-social nature of Western/Central/Eastern Europe Brexit proper is unworkable so can it.

2. We accept EFTA (Norway) and take the slap on the the cheek in that it's nearly the same but does tick all boxes, remain or exit.

3. We exercise British Empire belligerence and end up like North Korea. ie May's 'deal'....

Petition Campaign HQ Update,

A rather slow day for sign ups but this is hardly surprising given that our entire “fan base” was

A) on the March from Sunderland where internet access is diabolical...strong winds kept blowing the signal away.
B) obviously in church all day - as we are clearly on the side of richeousnous, praying for the sins of MP’s. That’s a lot of praying
C) Our page has come under almost constant attack from malware which my technical analyst tells me is coming from a little town called Belgium.???

We are therefore increasing our security threat level to "orange" and advise existing supporters to swab their keyboards to prevent against "Novichok" poisoning.

Famous Five spot available as a result.

Don’t miss out.

Am arranging for 4 (possibly 5 of these) to be reproduced as bumper stickers. Check your post.

Carry on.

When did the leave vote turn into a this deal or that deal scenario
About 10 seconds after David Cameron threw his cards in ,thanks Dave, right how can we stop this happening , I know , drag it out for 2 years , completely ignore the result even though 500 of us said we wouldn't then throw our hands up when it can't be worked out, oh well we tried.

When did the leave vote turn into a this deal or that deal scenario? Just stoking the embers ;)

It all depends on your reasons for leaving:
  • If the reason for leaving is that the people backing you financially don't want the EU Tax Avoidance Directive implementing (Farage, possibly Johnson) then you are for a no deal Brexit
  • If the people promising you a good job when they buy into the health service (Davies) then you want a no deal Brexit
  • If you're an opportunist sh!t who want to make money off it (Rees-Mogg) you want a no deal Brexit
  • If you want to be the next PM (Johnson) you want a no deal Brexit
  • If you're a stubborn xenophobe that wants to keep her position (May) you go for the current deal and don't compromise.
  • If you want to honour the vote but don't want to ruin the country you want a Brexit that involves remaining in the customs union.
