Brake shoes

I might need to replace the handbrake shoes in my 3200 as it's currently having almost no braking power.
I read in other threads that there is an identical or near identical shoe from another vehicle that fits but can't find exactly which one is it.
Anyone knows? I'm not going to spend 130€ on a set from Maserati unless I really have to ...

I replaced mine last year, I think from Brakes International, they were not expensive!
Same as Ferrari 550

worth stripping them to have a look, mostly the lining comes loose, as they bind up when parked. there are a few places that will reline them, can be a good option, Eurospares still sell them i think and not crazy money.

Are they not the same as 4200 ones? In which case there is a compatible Porsche part, I paid £8 for a set of 4 look in the alternative parts thread.

Found it on the parts thread, thanks.
It's supposed to be the same as the Ferrari 456 (BSS9359)

Not sure if Belfast Brakes are still re lining them
Cracking service a few years ago
New shoes sent before I shipped the old ones out
All exchange - buy one, send them old ones, 7 day service all for c£30
There is a thread link on here somewhere

Anyone have a link for the 4200 shoes? I'm also not sure whether a handbrake shoe set is for one side (2 pieces) or the whole car (4 pieces)

Also are they the same across the entire production run? Eurospares is giving two different part numbers but I assume they are interchangable.

I would expect it's the complete set. I don't recall ever buying brakes pads / shoes and getting one wheel's worth.

Just be aware there are two types on the 3200-4200-QP-GT a thin and a thick set that are not interchangeable.

This was more the case on 3200/4200 cross over and may affect early QP too.

The Maserati part is per shoe, so 4 required and £90 each from memory.

From experience, everyone else sells handbrake shoes as a set of 4 so both sides on an axle.

Maserati obviously don’t feel they should follow the norm.

Good to know, mine is a late model year so I’d have to run the later types.

Anyone know if the above mentioned Borg and Beck set is for the old or new design?
The old ones are compatible with the 550/355 set.

The drawing looks wrong for the later/thinner type as it has addition holes in the mounting plate.

They may fit but are different visually.

Being for the earlier F550 (1996-2002) I suspect these are the thicker 3200/4200 crossover items.

Assume the only way to be sure is to remove the disc and have a look? I have a 56 GS, so guess i may have either

GS is part of the facelift series so it has the newer style. Eurospares lists the exact cutoff by production number.
