Hi guys,

i have a 4200 cc (2004) with 38.000 km and the first brake pads. One of the pads is squealing a little bit and i was thinking of changing all. My discs look like new.
I know there are a lot of topics about this in the forum with different recommendations. I want to know if i should go with OEMs or with better ones (if u know some).
I can change them myself but i have no time for this, u think it’s possible for any normal garage to get this job done, they are brembos and nothing special.

best regards,
Saif

Go for Yellow Stuff or Ferodo DS 2500s ( Ferodos arn't strictly road legal but exellent ) OEM pads fade terribly.

Must admin my opinion of OEM 4200 pads is pretty low.

Ferrodo DS2500's seem to be the best I have seen to date, Yellow good but disintegrate.

OP, do you have any specific complaints with the OEMs? They seem to last, so what don't you like? The quest for 'better' doesn't always get you where you want to be!

They are wooden! From my biking days I've always liked an initial 'bite' when pulling on the brakes. ( I could always do a better stoppie than a wheelie!) OEM does not have it and you need to gently push the brake pedal to achieve an adequate amount of initial braking power. The above advice is perfectly sound to use Mintex etc.

If your brakes are squealing then it's either down to a lack of copperslip on the BACK or they are starting to crumble. I had a set in mine that just fell apart when I pulled them out to inspect them. OEM are safe but there's better and safer out there !
