Just wondering if there are available service kits, seals & o rings etc, for the (Brembo?) calipers on my 4200...?
Cheers

I believe they are the same as Porsche, check the piston sizes, you can buy them as Brembo branded. I think I paid around 200 pounds for all four corners a few years back.

Anyone know what the piston sizes are at all..?
Might have to pick up a used caliper from eBay and dismantle it for a closer look....

It’s probably a lot easier to just send them to someone like Bigg Red for a full refurb. They are quite good value to.

i got "Brake Caliper Specialists" (BCS) to do all of my calipers and they did a good job, not too expensive either. The calipers are Brembo so there should be a kit i would think. My calipers required two new pistons because of corrosion so I was happy to get them re-manufactured.

FYI. I have full spare set of 3200 calipers. If someone wants to use them to practice refurb I am quite happy. As long as they are circulating in the forum when I need them back.

I've said this before, don't mess with braking system hydraulics, unless replacing with new or reconditioned component's as It'll void your insurance!
Had a punter in who rebuilt his own rear calipers thinking he'd save a few quid, he had low speed accident when the brakes failed, nothing serious
When the insurance guys examined the car it was obvious what happened and declined to pay out
Not only did he write off his 30K Alfa but had to pay a couple of grand out of his own pocked to fix to car he hit!

Interesting Dave back in the day we were forever re building master cylinders and re sealing wheel cylinders with kits from Lockheed and Girling then as if over night no longer available due to the risk of claims.
The best advice is new or reconditioned by a specialist with a paper trail.
I still have my Snap On honing tools for brakes @alfatwo

Not really a refurbishment in the true sense but a mega clean and replace the damaged dust seal (Brembo part at £11 plus £4 postage - flea bay) Also replace the T27 bolt which holds the guides in place, all 8 had rusted away, new solid lines from the caliper to the hub, 1 replacement link pipe between the caliper, a nice clean and then a paint in bright red.

Also repair to the cooling ducts, the fibreglass nozzle ends had come loose and worn away on the tyres, the hoses split and useless.

All ready for the Forum discs and yellow stuff pads.

One question what goes at the top the larger diameter (46mm) piston or the smaller one - and what way up are the bleed nipples? at the top or the bottom? link pipe at the other end. Eurospares drawing shows link pipe at the top.

Bleed nipples replaced with nice new stainless steel nipples.

All parts including nuts and bolts £70 Flea bay

nipples pointing up! To allow the (bleeding) air out.
I know this as (new) mechanic fitted mine upside down while I was chatting to him. The boss spotted his error and was agog. The new mech was gone within a week.

Thanks and makes absolute sense
I will double check but pretty sure they where upside down!
They are handed so only fit one side and one still has the link pipe in place
