Bought my First GTS

Hi everyone - It's a pleasure to join the forum - I have just bought my first Granturismo (2009 4.7 S Auto) and so far I absolutely love it!! I do have a concern though which I'm hoping you can help me with.

I have recently noticed a little movement in the revs when changing up to 3rd gear - It revs up a little immediately after the changed and then dips back down (If it were a manual I would almost describe it as the clutch slipping) - This only seems to happen when shifting up into 3rd gear (both manual and auto modes). Is this normal or potentially a problem?

Could be clutch - any idea when it was replaced? Or could be needing a relearn, disconnect battery for an hour or so, reconnect and see how it goes...

Welcome and looks great. If it's an auto it obviously isn't clutch slip. Someone will be along with greater knowledge. Good luck. Can you take back to garage or was it a private sale?

I bought it private - it had a very good service history and already had the common variator problem done. 39k on the clock

Welcome.

Automatic gearboxes do have clutches there’s a lock up clutch in the torque converter and a number in the box itself. Sounds like there could be a fault with one.

Try an auto box specialist. I can recommend Auto Trans in Gloucester if it’s local to you.

They do. Mine did the same. Someone else on FB did the same. Mine had 100k on it and never changed all the miles I drove it....
