"Jaguar becomes the latest in a long line of car companies to introduce a budget brand. The new brand, named 'Ginger Tabby' will begin with a car that is designed in the spirit of the old XJ, and even has an appropriate hood emblem to complete the mini-Jag ethos"

Anyone got any workable solutions for keeping cats off the car? Ours find the carbon bonnet on the Strad a remarkably comfortable place to sit - particularly after I've been out for a drive. Not something I want to encourage. Solutions causing permanent harm to the cats have been ruled out.

Have you tried the hose pipe technique? Spray the cat with water every time it sits on the bonnet. Very soon it will stay off!

But every time it leaves, it'll go for maximum traction.....

The solution to this, perhaps, comes under the heading of “non-permanent harm”.

But I bow to your obviously greater knowledge in this area :D

De-clawing of cats was vetoed when the Japanese landlord of the house we wanted to rent proposed that. She won that debate and we got the house.
I can't imagine the answer will be different now...

De clawing cats that you 'own' is cruel and stupid. De-clawing cats that are 'owned' by others (for this where the cats that sit on my car reside) is potentially criminal

Yes I know you're joking
