BMC AIR FILTER

Just replaced the OEM air filter with a high flow BMC air filter and noticed a huge difference with acceleration. I haven't taken it out on the HWY as yet, but GTS is more responsive... Only issue is the BMC manufacturer states that the ECU should be reprogrammed to obtain the maximum output from the BMC air filter.

Sorry but there’s no way that you’re seeing a huge difference in acceleration with this (or any) filter. Louder induction sound, sure.

Louder sound and more aggressive/ responsive pull off. Maybe due to the fact I recently replaced all plugs and overhauled the ZF6hp26 Gearbox, and new Diff oil...Not to mention the X Pipe . As I stated before ''huge difference in acceleration''

I installed the BMC air filter and it made absolutely no difference in performance or sound.

Sounds like a waste of money spent on your BMC AIR FILTER ....Maybe try installing the X Pipe it just might wake up the performance in your GT. I removed the center resonator which restricts the exhaust flow. Next mod is to install ''200 CELL 5'' DIAMETER HIGH FLOW CATS'' which will work hand in hand with the BMC HIGH FLOW AIR FILTER....

Sports cats make a big difference combined with a small stage 1 remap. Different car to when I first bought it

I fitted one purely as it was on special and half the price of the crappy oem paper filter.

Can’t say I’ve noticed any difference.

Thought the centre resonator just made it quieter.
Yes the center resonator makes it quieter but also restricts the exhaust flow in order to make it quiet.

After doing some reading on this BMC air filter I'm thinking it's not the best choice due to the ''cheap '' materials used to construct this item for high end cars. The rubber used on BMC air filters after time becomes brittle and disintegrates which leads to it being sucked into the intake and destroying engines. Next year this time I just may resort back to OEM. Or do a hard look into the K&N to find that fitment.
