Bluetooth speakers. Why so good?

.... I'm glad that I am not the only one astonished by the sound available from these tiny bluetooth speakers.
But I am still interested to know why they are so good.
I will try to give my opinion using the word "DISTRACTION" since this French word seems well understood and "à la mode" on the other side of the détroit du Pas de Calais (Dover strait).
Bandwidth transients are not well reproduced by a limited receiver due to harmonic and intermodulation distortions. If you want to correctly transmit and receive a 3 kHz square wave, for example, you need a bandwidth say of up to 30 kHz. In the worst case, you won't even recognize the 3kHz frequency.
I believe the bluetooth compressions are smartly done in order to keep the main signal information, i.e. take the 30kHz related data as a DISTRACTION :). As a result, receiver distortion is reduced and the sound better.
This is also why an old tube radio sounds so good and why I now enjoy music much more through the now limited bandwidth of my ear: It's easier to pay attention to the musical message without the DISTRACTIONS :thumb1::thumb1:made by the composer to better present and embellish her or his say

NB In French, there is another meaning for this word: games played by kids to distract themselves from other tasks.

Thanks for that.
He does need to get out more doesn't he. Less comparing one recording to another, more comparing all recordings to the original. Get in front of a symphony orchestra or pipe organ recital perhaps.

Just for information, I do quite like Dark Side of the Moon, but suspect it exits only as recordings, including studio master tapes perhaps.

It totally does. Same like Bohemian Rhapsody. No way can it ever have been performed in real time. So what's the 'ideal' that the reproduction is aiming to mimic?
