Bluetooth options for GS

Couple of pics of the DEH-80 PRS for you. I think it looks pretty good as its quite a simple unit. Great that you can match the colour to any shade you like!
The cars factory plugs fit straight into the one supplied with the Pioneer. It really is a 10 min job to install.

I'm running additional line outs to my 4 channel amp and sub ( L + R for front and rear, and a pair of sub) No need for this unless you are planning to swap out the amp too. The factory amp is fed with speaker level inputs so all is dealt with in the standard connector block.

Dont forget to pick a pair of these up to remove your existing Becker unit.

Hi, I have just been looking through this thread because I am considering fitting this unit, great advice/help you have given. Was wondering if you had fitted a telephone cradle, if so what sort. Would like to do this in my Gransport but options seem limited. It would make Google maps easier to see, or do you have a separate sat nav. Pictures aways appreciated if you have them.
Regards Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

Its quite rare I need sat nav in my car as most of the time I'm just driving it for fun around roads I know pretty well! On the occasions I do need it, I have one of those phone cradles that you stick on the windscreen. Nothing fancy but it works well enough. Think I got it from Halfords. I'm sure there are better options out there for our cars.

Thanks for the reply, yes when I need on I also sucker a Garmin to the screen. But hate wires dangling, I have looked around but not yet found a suitable cradle, there are stick on etc but I want something that can be removed without leaving holes or marks. If ever I am successful in my search I will post. Just one more question the Pioneer you fitted, does it have an internal microphone or do you have to find somewhere to fix an external one. Cheers

Hi Geoff,

No internal Mic on my Pioneer, but it does come with an external one which I fitted to the top corner of the screen. Very easy to route the wire behind the trim and it works really well.

Good luck with your search for a cradle. interested to see what you find.

I just bit the bullet and replaced the rubbish single DN unit with a pop out screen and got full car play. Not cheap but well worth it IMHO.

Hi Does anyone know a simple straight swap option for replacing the becker head unit in a 2006 GS audotorium without having to mess around with wiring harnesses etc? Also does anyone know what replacement is required for the subwoofer that sits between the seats in the GS spyder? Thank you

Cant help with the sub in the spyder, but expect something from Focal would do the trick. For the head unit, I can confirm that the Pioneer DEH-80PRS fits straight in with no modifications.

Any standard head units fits without issue. You can bypass the auditorium amp by unplugging the harness at one end and connecting it to the connection at the other end. Male to female connectors. It sounds better without to be honest.

If you want something that is clean and in keeping with the becker unit but gives you options for touch screen etc then have a look at this range :-

Combine the cradle and stereo if you like.

I think the chap that did the fuji bianco rebuild project fitted one of these as well. Certainly somebody on the forum did.

There are a few different models in the range with different features.

That would be me: Carplay

Extremely happy with the results.
