Original thread here.
So this weekend I'm going to try to spruce up the interior and do a bit of servicing work on my lovely new 4200.
I was thinking:
There are some great guides that I'll use to carry out the work - thanks again to everyone on the forum for the wealth of knowledge!
So this weekend I'm going to try to spruce up the interior and do a bit of servicing work on my lovely new 4200.
I was thinking:
- gearbox oil
- brake fluid
- air filter
- engine oil/filter
- Is there anything else pressing on a 90k mile car that's due a service? Do spark plugs really make a big difference?
- Who do you recommend as suppliers of these parts? I'm looking at a combo of Scuderia and Opie oils but I'd like to get them in one place - plus neither supplies the crush washers or other washers/seals I need for the various oil changes.
- Crush washers - does anyone have the dimensions of the washers for (a) the fill and drain plugs on the CC gearbox, and (b) the sealing washers on the engine? I know the latter requires one 22mm and one 18mm (interior diameter) but there's nothing about thickness and outer diameter.
- One question I haven't been able to answer is which oil to use in the gearbox? My research suggests I need transaxle oil as the diff shares the same casing? So would this be the right stuff? https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-6363-c...synthetic-car-gearbox-oil-formerly-taf-x.aspx
