Thanks for the reply, I believe the GT runs Six-spot callipers, I can purchase these for $500 Au at the parts dismantlers. Has any one made a mounting block to adapt to GS. would be an economic way to up the braking power

Given that my car had the FD 6 pot from before I was able to source the caliper part number which is Brembo 20.9733.02

I believe its a generic 6 pot Brembo sells as an aftermarket upgrade. Interestingly enough it might be OEM on a Volvo S60 Polestar as the part # for the caliper pads cross references. That said the EBC pads were too tight on the caliper and wouldn’t fit properly.

Thats great, Thank you , I will check the number against the GT caliper and see if it a match. the next task will be to see if FD will sell the mounting blocks. can I ask if the discs were larger and do you have a side on photo for visual recognition cheers Shane

They use a larger disc its either 355 or 380mm I believe. I will take pictures when I can but i dont have the car at the moment.

I’ve seen that this Brembo BBK is also sold by other vendors including directly from Brembo themselves.

Thank you for the info. I think big brother is watching. The strangest thing just happened, I just tried to look at the FD site and I am blocked ?! Yesterday I tried to join Maserati Life and contact a GS owner who competed in Targa Tasmania to talk about another event in Melbourne that Iam entered in 1100Km away and asked about his Big brake kit From FD (cost )they Banned me and accused me of SPAM. What the is going on, I thought these great sites were for enthusiast to discuss cars and their parts and figure out what works. When you are privately competing in small events its not every one who can drop the best part of 10 K on brakes. The AU is not great against USD. or am I overreacting

Banned me and accused me of SPAM.

Sorry about that. Something would have triggered the filters about your IP address or similar. Did you get a message from one of us? DM me the username that you used on ML and I'll see if I can sort it out.

Back on the brake thing again. Sourced some slotted rotars in the standard diameter with separate hats (centers), at least I won't have to put up with the cracking from the holes and I can replace the rotors easily with an AU product made by Disc Brakes Australia. I found the size of the tyers( R spec) and the weight of the car that bigger brakes would not give a big advantage without fitting wider rims. My biggest problem at the moment is sourcing EBC Yellow stuff pads in AU. So herein lies the question, Does anyone know the address in the UK that would supply a set of front yellow stuff for a 2006 GS. Cheers Shane

There’s far better brake compounds and better quality products than EBC. Can you get Hawk or Ferodo down under?

DS2500 for a start...I have some barely used Yellow Stuff sitting about doing nothing.
Contact Lambertius on ML- he's looked in some depth at pad choice and availability in Australia, as well as sourced two piece discs at standard sizing if it is of interest...Hawk was a supplier who offered good support during background research IIRC.
@Zep is sorting a big brake kit for the 4200/GS series. 362mm bell&disc, 6 pots and braided lines..( DS2500 as standard) You should PM him!

Thank you guys for the info I will try and get the correct numbers for the Ferodo DS 2500 pads. I keep running into walls in AU for this caliper, must be a low volume part. Regards Shane
