Just realised this great event is on tomorrow!

http://bicesterheritage.co.uk/whaton/sunday-scramble-2/

Well worth a visit - I actually have a couple of spare entry tickets if they have sold out.

I am taking my 1965 Mustang Coupe now fitted with the quad 48 IDA Webers !

Looks like the sun will shining ........

that is a nicely detailed engine bay, tuning the 4 webers must have been tricky, not that many people around any more that can properly tune these

The tuning of the Weber’s is WIP
Idle is all sorted and top range is completely mad, mid range needs a rolling road and the guys I use have a ventilation problem at the moment but she will go back shortly.
In the meantime - drive it like I stole it - all good !

I had a pair of Weber 46 IDA 3C carburettors on an old Porsche race car a number of years back and were right buggers to synchronise and tune

Wow, some fabulous pictures Scaf. I live 5 minutes from here - I'm so lucky to have this on my door step. Every time there is something different to see that you might never see in a lifetime. It's a job to get round it all.
Did you manage to get a peek in the Historit hangar? A brace of F40's and a La Ferrarrarararii uncovered.... :) ....oh and the 8C in the other hangar - gawwjus!

The airshow in June is must too. A completely different focus, but still an opportunity to see, hear and smell the passion that this event seems to draw - and everything so accessible. Phenomenal :)

That does look tidy. Do you still have those mesh filters on the trumpets? Every test I have ever seen shows that whilst they look kinda cool... they're awful for airflow and not that great at filtration either. Individual foam filters would work better... or a proper box with cold intake if you're feeling like some fabrication.

Tuning them shouldn't be a total disaster but I guess the hardest thing now is actually finding someone who knows what they are doing and actually had a decent stock of the various jets that you'll end up working through.

I once wrote a dissertation on tuning them... but that was a long time ago... and kinda strange I was allowed to given it was a Computer Science degree. More interesting than linear algebra mind!

Enjoy tomorrow anyone who gets there.

Yes I still the filters on - car does not get a lot of use but does not seem to suffer from lack of airflow.

I don’t have room for foam and love the look of the mesh.

Can’t make tomorrow as still fighting off a bug that’s been lingering since mid Dec, for those going wrap up warm !

I bet that sounds awesome when you open it up, I also bet you can actually hear the fuel gushing down it's thirsty throats when you do!

If does sound the business for sure - especially on full chat - I knew it would destroy the mpg of my highly efficient American V8 and it has not disappointed- down to 10 mpg ragging around town but double that on a mway run, but every mile is glorious to listen to !

I went along in the 4200 today and was amazed by the huge turn out... it has got bigger every year and now is massive with loads of variety. Well worth a run out to the next one if you can make it... not many Maseratis there ... in fact I think I only saw one, a very nice dark blue Gransport.

Some great cars there today and I enjoyed it more than the Italian shows. A must for me, next one is in April.
