Best Place to buy X-Pipe

Reading through this thread reminds me of why I recently departed Facebook - too much nastiness & life's too short. I am sure this forum won't go down that route, I truly hope not, as this is the only social media that I participate it!

No, it most certainly wont. I let this thread run a bit longer than usual hoping that the usual gentlemanly conduct would kick like it normally does.

I am, however, still waiting...

So, perhaps rather optimistically ;) Regarding OP's query. I would also be interested in buying an X pipe for my Granturismo. Larini or otherwise. If there's any mileage in attempting some kind of group purchase and discount, I'd be interested in discussing. If not, not a problem.

Incidentally, I tended to think that there was a little exaggerating going on here, when some said that they mostly listen to their exhaust and rarely their ICE. Looking back on my first month of ownership, I could count on the fingers of one hand, the number of times, I've even turned on the ICE. It's nothing short of bliss to be back driving cars that put a smile on my face, as well as those around me.

There's an ICE system??

The x-pipe makes a great noise even more fantastic. I cannot recommend one highly enough.

I've got the DBW on my QPV Automatic. Haven't clue what it does really, and can't remember what it was like before. Just had an itch that needed scratching since there's so little you can really do to "upgrade" the performance of these cars in any way. Makes me feel better having a tiny switch underneath the steering column which I can flick one way or the other. Oh this and the X or Aaaaaaaitch pipe which makes the noise different.

Other than that you'll be contemplating spacers, changing your steering wheel, reading up on ECU tuning and coming to the conclusion that it's not really worth it for an additional 30HP if you're lucky, and then looking at carbon fibre parts and or dipping.

Then it will be what tyres, and what colour wheels. And that's about it. After you get all this out of your system you can relax and just enjoy the car, oh and obsess about cleaning and detailing product)

And then you'll decide you want something else completely and do the whole cycle again on a different forum

Am I wrong?

I confess that I'm not remotely interested in how much you spent (sorry!), but I do like the 720. So well done on placing an order. What colour? They look good bold, in my view.

Sorry buddy was meant in good humour in the nature of all the willy waving I was being accused of :) I went for a 720s performance spec in MSO Paris Blue. Now the long wait for delivery....

Is there a drone effect experienced with an Xpipe?

On the 4200, not with the stock back boxes, its the back boxes that seem to make or break the the drone/final tune.

If you have straight through rears and X or H and de cat, it sounds a mess IMHO.

That spec makes me want to wave my own willy. Good call. Well done. Delivery date is...?

FFS where did all this come from....

I have just spent the last hour or so having the bodyshop whinging about my Spyder and the extra work they keep finding, I asked have they fallen out with it as they were in love when they took it in. The answer caught me out and I suspect might be something I might rue in the future.

"We started to hate the b1tch then we had to start her up to move her to make space for something else. It was then that we forgave her everything"

I know what they mean, X pipe and GS boxes :t1::numberone:

On this point, yes. I've made some really good friends on here so even if one day I don't have a Maser I'll still hang round, like the old man in the raincoat who hangs round outside the school in my village.

Anyhow, back to the original theme and the wonderful sound of our cars' exhausts. Yes, the X is a great upgrade and one that Matt first told me about soon after I said I was considering a GTS and the best VFM thing you can do to your car and he's not wrong. Bang for your buck is huge whether it be courtesy of Marios' pipes or the Larini option via their website, you really can't go wrong. There are no lambda sensors to worry about and it is totally reversible.

I have done it on both of my Granturismos and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Ok. That's it. I'm sold on it. X pipe will be ordered.

Now, how to break it to the missus.

They aren't that expensive tbh. Have a word with Marios at Autoshield, I'm sure he'll sort you out.

I second that. 250 to buy 75 to fit.
That's a couple of good nights out.
