Good old browser cookie tracking just served me this one up following multiple Bentley related posts..... Bentley Continental - Worst on Warrantywise's Reliability Index

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/news...-problematic-models/ar-BB175mh4?ocid=msedgntp

"The Bentley Continental GT is in the unenviable position as the least reliable used model, according to the index."
That survey is interesting - Japan has 7 of the top 10 most reliable cars and Germany, for all their good reputation, has the top 4 least reliable! Anyone tried a Lexus LC500?

It cannot be a coincidence that most of the top 10 are the more basic, less toys options. The Sandero can just about summon up electric windows central locking and ac!

If you buy a £120k car and it has a slight rattle you would be p***ed; spend £6k on a Sandaro and it would be expected to rattle.

I have to say, that looks just the place i would want to spend long road trips in.. cossetted and cocooned :)
Most of the fastest route between Dieppe and La Chartre is the A28 Autoroute, and with the overnight ferry getting into Dieppe about 4am, this is the pefect vehicle to cosset you as you drive in the early morning light to be at our place for breakfast!

It cruises in silence at 100mph with Just the faintest hum from the engine and slight wind roar. The most alarming sense you get is the fuel gauge moving down as it consumes a gallon every 20km at that speed.

I've always had a soft spot for these. A gentleman's car with just a hint of menace underlying the charm.

How big's the fuel tank, though? For a non-daily, high fuel consumption is more of a convenience than a cost factor. If you have to stop every 200 miles you're going to get jarred off with it. My Vantage is surprisingly good at not drinking fuel on a steady run yet still can't go as long between fuel stops as a Stradale on the same journey. I can just about squeeze 300 miles from a tank, and could likely get another 50 but hate driving with the fuel showing a single figure range!

I have an Arnage T and it’s the old school charm that appeals with the 1950’s 6.75 litre with twin turbos belting out 450 HP and 12MPG.

Anyway, you don’t have to drive it as Just sitting on the quilted leather with engine turned ally dashboard and solid metal organ stop switches is a tactile pleasure denied the VAG generation where the latter are chromed plastic! I love to park it by the Arnage village sign where I regularly have lunch at Ville Cloche. My Mrs agrees it’s an old gits car and hates it!

The V8-engined Continental manages a more palatable 23.9mpg, with its 90-litre fuel tank good for a claimed 474-mile range.
Not so shabby then!
I love Continentals especially the Mulliner versions.
Here is my old baby

The 12MPG is when accelerating hard out of toll booths and cruising at 90 to 100mph which it does effortlessly. At a more sedate 60 to 70 the consumption climbs to about 18mpg and you can get 350 to 400 miles from a full tank to about 1/4 when I start looking for a fill up. The 800 mile round trip from Norfolk to La Chartre via Newhaven Dieppe route typically costs about £280 to £300 using regular unleaded and French prices for that. The Cayenne Turbo and GC are a little better but not a great amount.

Not with an x pipe and empty rear boxes it don't :thumb3:

I have to say that seems very silly. The seats in the back are a joke ;)

On a more serious note, are you really considering that car?

I was...she isn’t..
Something wrong with it C?

Well to me it seems rather a lot of money (unless prices have shot up since I was looking)
It's 'base' (i.e. not Mulliner), pre facelift and early enough that if the vacuum hoses let go it's technically an engine out job. Although there are places now that can do it without getting the engine out, it's the GT variator of the Continental. You won't get a load of change from £2.5-3k

Granted it's low miles and a convertible (but I don't think they rate much of a premium) but my Speed (lower, faster, basically better, more bells and whistles) is newer, has the re-located vacuum lines and was about £6k less.....

Be interested in knowing what that LCD display is by the driver's right knee. Sure that's not factory. Could be some kind of Parrot.

If you're seriously considering these, I have a pretty chunky number of links and documents of what to look for and when to run screaming for the hills. Gathered over 16 months of hunting. More than happy to share.

<edit> Having just checked the ad again, couple more points of comparison: This is a private sale, mine came from a dealer with warranty. Mine also has the Ben-HUR (hurrr hurrr!) replacement which allows you to use any double DIN stereo so it has a Kenwood with full Garmin Nav (Co-Pilot is still better) touchscreen, DAB and Apple play) that lot was £4.5k. Granted I've had to spend some money on it but there's never a certainty that you won't
