The Bentley Continental is the same as a Range Rover, it’s an all car to all men (ones with a fair few pesos to spare of course).

It’s all about the specification..

Black with red leather and tinted windows along with massive alloys/chromes is a very different prospect to a green coloured car with normal wheels and a light interior.

There are loads that go through the auctions. A 100k miler like that would be 12-14k max. There's a lot to go wrong on them though and repairs are fortunes. The access is terrible so simple things become big labour bills.

I like them, although I think i'd prefer a Flying Spur as I always wanted to look like an executive airport car driver or wedding car driver....in all seriousness, I think the Spur is less footballer and more user friendly.

Check if it idles roughly, and if it sinks on its springs. That's the two biggies as far as I can tell

Oh and the spoiler

Wish there was an accurate tool that assessed the number of repeat faults on a brand and model.

Far too ofter we hear that one car or another is a problem and cost a fortune to maintain, but how true is it?

I ger that a £150k Bentley will cost more to maintain, but does it have any more faults than a Ford?

No idea. Taking the positive view, quite a lot of parts are shared with the Phaeton, Passat and other VW cars so the box tax can sometimes be avoided

If you like them, have a punt here, reserve already met at 15750. It is a Mulliner as well if it helps. (does that mean really long carpets in the back and cropped short up front?)
Not my cup of tea. Quentin writes for classic car so read his adventures and even a well chosen car has landed him a whopping bill.

Back brake light 3rd one. As it’s a screen out if that goes. Headliner sag also as they are leather on some AFAIK. When I had mine I was told to buy post 2004, 2006 onwards was better. (If you get early 2006 then you got the lower road tax). Mine was reliable and some parts can be changed for Skoda or any VAG Group parts. On the mark 1’s the OBD could be read by VAG COM software. 7130671307

Good point, well made. I have a RR as my daily and the Bentley for fun!

Spec is everything. I have a Supersports which has a significant number of differences to 'regular' Continentals or Speeds. It's more powerful, lighter (not hard!), different gearbox, different suspension, different interior, carbon ceramic brakes and even a rear spoiler unique to the model. It's a Jeckyll and Hyde car - a monstrous lunatic or a refined cruiser depending on the driver's mood.

Do love the Supersport and that's in the best colour as well...Stunning my friend.

Have to say the Mulliner interior is very nice indeed, but would lose the passenger side mat ^^^
Also forgot these launched with the 12 cylinder engine. Cannot really tick the box for my V12 can it, more like W12 ?

It is a W12....
