Well I'm not sure about my Italian but I've just returned from Emblem in Poole who were replacing my clutch pedal bush and......what a great place!!! Very warm welcome, nice chat, nothing too much trouble. Bit like seeing an old friend. Then a vip walk around the cars- fanastic. Myles called me over to show me under my car and point out that as well as the bush, the slave cylinder rod was maladjusted and the associated spring retaining clip broken. All were replaced adjusted and bled. Also, believe it or not, the n/s turbo waste gate was seized. It's a small lever with a bolt nut and circlip which were siezed leaving valve slightly open as I understand it *He freed it after judicious moving and spent time with me going over the whole car underneath. All in laymans terms and easy to understand. After this he regassed the aircon and cleaned the engine and bay which I specifically asked for.*
All the guys there like Myles Tim and Martin etc were fantastic. I even got several coffees and a few chocolate eggs!
MAKE NO MISTAKE these guys are the best. Why? Because they know their stuff, involve you in the work personally and are very much "people" people. Most significant is that they engender trust....something my local main dealer struggles with having not returned two recent calls!*
Emblem's charges are very reasonable.... now I know why people rave about them. And if you want a detailing or valet service, well the work I've seen speaks for itself.*
Please everyone don't hesitate to call them or drop in. You won't regret it. Better to travel even a hundred or so miles to them rather than be shafted elsewhere. Btw I have absolutely no connection with them in case you wondered.
Oh and yes I am ecstatic with the way the 3200 now drives! Brilliant!! I was looking forward to listening to music driving back but most of the time I preferred my own V8 soundtrack! Gear selection is smoother, aircon ice cold (it was a really hot day actually!) and turbo kick seems more pronounced. There's something satisfying about knowing your engine is sparkly under the bonnet as well. Sad but true.
Well done Emblem!

I second Andy's positive review. Just dropped my 3200 off for a full service, cam belt, fluids some paintwork and brake pipe replacement. My experience with my first short service at Emblem last year was almost identical to Andy's and I would not take my Maserati anywhere else. Be advised that they are very busy at the moment, particularly with Ferraris coming out of winter hibernation - so if you need a service or some repairs done I suggest you book early! Also not in anyway affiliated with Emblem.

What was symptom of your "clutch pedal bush" ?

Had similar wastegate issue diagnosed (and fixed) by Robert Grimaldi during last service. Went un-noticed at each main dealer who stamped the book previously, and at the one who forget to stamp it as well. Forza Italia (indie specialists)

Without wishing to butt in - the clutch pedal bush is a **** design. Mine has been changed by a previous owner, but started to squeak about a year ago and continues to do so. It's a ***** of a job to change what is a low value item and Emblem had no issue with me putting up with it until it effects pedal movement. They eventually collapse and have to be changed. I think Conaero did this as a DIY job.

I did, and it was a total nightmare, no skin on my knuckles left in the end. After I did it, someone pointed out that it is easier to take out the drivers seat....its a bit excessive but with then enable you to lay down on your back and get better purchase on the bush. Use some washing up liquid to help ease it in.

I was quite pleased that Myles found a maladjused slave cylinder rod and broken spring retaining clip in addition to the bush because that all made a differnce. I'm not sure the bush alone would have made a significant difference.

Hi Andy

Myles did exactly the same on mine when it first visited them back in November, the pedal bush was changed and he found the spring retaining clip broken which didn't alow any adjustment. Obviously a faoult that happens fairly often then :)

Like others, I have no affiliation with Emblem.
However I do have to confirm that, from my experience, they really are the best.
They have years of Maserati knowledge and talk us through the tech stuff in easy-to-undertsand language ...which is essential for me.
Glad to hear that they are doing the right thing for forum members as I am expecting them to keep my car in pristine condition for many years.
