Battery

Been away a couple of days and now back, QPV Battery was dead.
Unusual I thought as it had been ok and I check the voltage regularly.
Charged it up today while in situ and it struggled to take the charge. Disconnected it completely and lifted it properly into the boot and recharged. Quite quickly (2 hours) it got to 13V. Reconnected while still not in the recess, boot light came on and within 1 minute the light went off and the battery had drained to 6V
A short? - Where?
Duff battery (about 3 years old)
Too dark to do any more today

Looks like you are right
The standing battery was charged up to over 12V and is now (1hour later) down to 11V and falling
I will check tomorrow but looks like a new battery is required.
This one is was bought new a Bosch one from memory 3 years ago.
Seems a bit short.....

Just had exactly the same issue. Car been on trickle charger for the last three months until last Sunday when it started and ran fine for the day. The night before last was a heavy frost and the car was outside. Yesterday morning battery flat. Just over three years old and the first time it's let me down. Bosch blue 019. Back on charge yesterday for the night and it started and ran fine today. Looking forward (not) to the morning to test.
Moz (unhappy)

worth checking your battery warranties, most have anywhere between 3 to 5 years, even on a 3 year warranty and only just expired perhaps, it could be argued that it should'tn have failed unless you have a real arsy supplier

The Bosch batteries MAY come with a 5 year warranty if I remember correctly - worth checking if you have the proof of purchase still?

Bosch S4 4 yr warranty. S5 5 yr warranty.

If a battery becomes too discharged it can be a point of no return to cone back from the dead. I keep both the Porsche and the GS on a C-TEK trickle charger as soon as they come back home after a trip because I dont know how long before the next trip.

Never fried or cooked any battery and has been invaluable to keep the batteries tip-top.

Sounds like you are heading for a new battery and a C-TEK purchase is highly recommended at the same time.
