I had a similar problem a couple of weeks back albeit on my Alfa 147 runabout.
I accidentally managed to run the battery completely flat and my new fangled charger decided the battery was so low it wouldn't charge it up. Put my old trickle charger on for a few hours and the battery got enough charge for the new charger to then work. It then spent about 12 hours going through it's cycles before the battery was fully charged and it's been fine since.
Of course that doesn't solve your problem of why the battery was discharged unless of course it's faulty as Catman suggests.

What has been said above is all true, but standard lead acid batteries do not react well to going below their minimum final voltage so keep an eye on it from now on.

I've had this on cars before in that some trickle chargers especially won't charge when it is so low.

However a battery boost pack or my trusty old plugin Halfords battery charger does a better job from very low or nowt. When it is partially charged then a trickle charger can take over.

As others have alluded to many are intelligent and will slow charge initially to keep temps low as not to screw the battery completely. It can take several days to get to the point of normality before others chargers will operate again.

I can't recall from memory often having one that has gone to 0v completely though. Only time it happened was when I left an interior light on. As it was such a low draw it took every last ounce of voltage from the battery. Still charged back up OK though with the trusty Halfords battery charger over a week. Was still right as reign after that.

It could be a faulty unit though and does happen. Especially old stock that has sat on a shelf for ages.

Is there a date code on it? Where did you buy it from?

As said I would just use an old traditional "dumb" 6 amp or so battery charger to get it going.
You then need to determine why it went flat, did you have this problem with the previous battery and you maybe hoped that it was the old battery at fault?
Classic battery drain as detailed many times before is a redundant tracker. My battery lasted a week tops, removal of old redundant tracker and it is now many many weeks until it starts getting low.

As others have said check the Navtrak. It sits on top of the fuel tank and is pretty easy to get to with a few boot interior trims removed. You can just unplug it and it is often the biggest cause of drain as will be polling often even with no live subscription in place.
