Hi all, was wondering if someone could help.
The last few times I’ve driven the car, there has been the odd occasion where it seems there was a spike in the power and the lights flick off momentarily, it knocks it out of sport mode and a few of the times it has come up saying ‘park on’ and then it’s completely fine again.. as I don’t drive the car every day I thought this could be that the battery is just low. So today I decided to go on a nice long run out to see if I could get it charged back up.
While out I had one of these spikes, and all seemed fine again, car still drove perfectly, carried on for another 40 miles or so and started heading home. On the way back, around 20 miles from home, I got what appeared to be one of these spikes, the car decided to have a bit of a moment and it seemed it tried to shift down to second from fourth. Then came up with a warning saying transmission fault, go to dealer. Great! Then it was fine again?! Drove fine, transmission seemed fine. about another 10 miles closer to home this happened again! But on top of the transmission error it said power steering error as well, and left a warning light on. Got it home ok, turned off and back on again, no warning lights and all seemed ok.
So I wanted to try and charge the battery as it seems it may have had it, and I’m assuming the renowned Italian electrics and low battery are to thank for the random warning lights. It’s going in for wishbone bushes shortly anyway and then going to storage until spring, so wanted to see if charging it would solve the issue until I can get it to Migliore.
I have looked in the manual with regards to charging the battery, and it says to disarm the alarm, disconnect the terminals and charge, which is fine. Does anyone know how to disarm the alarm? As it’s currently sat on the drive with the boot just off the latch in case it completely ran out!
Thanks!
