What age of RR are meant to be susceptible to the crankshaft issue and inlet manifold failure?

I have a 2016 SDV6 Range Rover Sport, and so far it’s been perfect...

Sorry, but all of them.. (crankshaft part anyway)

Approved used warranty doesn’t cover the £20K+ repair either but I have heard several stories of a “goodwill gesture” if you have the warranty & full main dealer service history.

Interesting - may have to do some research into this....

Though we should keep this in perspective - the vast majority of SDV6 LR cars driving around the roads today have not been at fault, nor had engine rebuilds. Just like most Porsche 996, 997 and Boxsters haven't had engine rebuilds either. As ever, take care with stats from the internet!

Actually, some more (possible) good news, just remembered Warranty Direct cover the crankshaft if you so feel the need for cover, get it in an email its covered though...

Interesting to read that the LR extended warranty doesn't cover the crankshaft but LR are giving 100% goodwill payments for the cost.

Agreed, I have a 2008 s/c and it is a lovely thing. Just keep an eye on the rear arches/sills as highlighted on the FF forum.

Has anyone had a V8 diesel Sport as I keep finding myself drawn to them not needing a Full Fat one anymore ?

Shudder, I’ve just had memories of the bronx and rattling a very amourous female raf radar tech in the Timmy hanger.....
Yeah we lived down in the Bronx too as some bright thought that Ground Radio should be part of JCUFI despite only dealing with ATC. The rest of the RAF lived in the nice area.

We moved to the “posh” area for the last 2 months of my tour. 4 to a room. I preferred it in the bronx in my own room. The only problem was finding it when ******!!

Great interior colour, it has the sort of luxury that the British premium badge cars have always done so well. In recent years the sister company Jaguar has become the poor relation in terms of cabin finish, so it's good to see their latest refresh of the XF and F Pace have now been given a new cabin design that gives them the same quality as the likes of the Range Rover models.

Yeah take a wrong turn and you'll end up where the RIC were. Luckily a company of Gurkhas from the PWRR were there in my time in late '99 and very nice smiley chaps they were. I had plenty of time for them, espeically when they cooked a curry.
