Has anybody had any experience with Nasa Dua beach resort in Bali. I don’t normally book holidays this far in advance but Mrs. 1963 saw some deals and we’ve taken a punt for June next year. Considering it’s only costing £400 more than the same amount of nights in the UK it seems a bit of a bargain.

No experience of that resort, but having just spent a week in the UK, our 'normal' AI in Mexico was not much more expensive.

We have a beautiful country and great food but
a decent hotel holiday In U.K. when taking account of decent restaurants and drinks is so much more expensive than going abroad it’s obscene really.

Is it rain season that time of year? I have a friend who goes to Thailand and if he says there’s a risk of rain each day, but if he gets lucky, great weather and a well cheap holiday.

It was recommended when we went by our tour guide/driver. We didn't stay ourselves but more recently he recommended it to friends of mine who are still researching Bali. I'd recommend dropping him a note if you want some guided tours, he will take you where the tourists aren't, and he's a keen photographer so thinks like an artist for those perfect holiday snaps.

Thanks for that. I’ll certainly look him up.

If you mean Nasa Dua, i presume it's outta this world. If Nusa Dua, i didn't know of Nusa Dua beach resort. I've spent a week at Sofitel Nusa Dua on two occasions... Lovely resort. The surrounding beach is really not great, nor is the nearby township much to write home about. You need to find a resort with all the bells and whistles, else ND is not an overly engaging place. The night time dining along the beach is quite nice.... You can stroll in and out of various hotel restaurants and take your pick.

June is a sensational time to be there. Humidity and precipitation should be at their lowest.

I still remember the barman at the poolside cocktail lounge being completely disinterested in my suggesting he put the lids back on the blender jugs when not in use...as wasps kept flying in and getting blended up. I am not kidding. I switched to beers immediately.

He was probably trying to spice things up a bit, since the place hasn't been bombed for quite some time.

I was last a Nusa Dua in 1986, so can't contribute much recent expertise.

I will say that back then Nusa was a nice quiet respite from the madness of Sanur, which was overrun by loud pugnacious drunken Australians.

I have been told that Nusa is also like that now (except if you stay locked in your exclusive enclave). But maybe it is better post pandemic and with the Australians locked in at home.

If I ever get to Bali again, I will be heading straight for the North Coast.
