So where is the air intake on a Levante??? I'm guessing it is down low like the 4200!

I was just thinking the same.
It's too deep obviously however my Pinin has its standard air intake high up above the radiator grill level so although you might have wet feet, it would take a lot for it to gulp in any water.
Looking at the parts diagram for the lavante, it too has the air intake above the grill.
So too big a bow wave, or possibly electrics shorted out.

It's not all about air intakes though. Ecu, fuse board, relay boards etc. are often in footwells.

Is a flood an 'Act of God' and therefore void insurance-wise?
Probably if you intentionally try to drive through it.....
Tip toing to gauge depth is surely prudent......stopping before it does!

A confession. I almost had my Merc CLS written off due to flood water. A blocked drain combined with Devon banks conspired to create a 80m long ‘wheel wash’. I made it 70m before the air filter lost its battle leading to a hydro locked engine. Water was 12 inches deep!

The farmer who turned up to push me out promptly unblocked the drain and by the time the flatbed turned up to take me home the water was completely gone. AA bloke though I had been drinking. Insurance paid out. The minute you mention floods they fast track you straight through the process. It’s no different to crashing really. It’s not like you were deliberately trying to ruin your day.
