Hi all,

After much exploring the alternatives, I have decided to go with Marios in Autoshield for a, 'clutch job' and any other work that may crop up during my visit there.

The quote at £1,800 seems reasonable considering the reputation they have and the contact, with him, so far has been positive.

He answered my emails/phone calls promptly and has arranged to put two, 'techies', as I will be staying in a hotel while the work is being carried out.

I will be taking a ferry over to exotic Holyhead and driving up/across/down, to Manchester, where I will be experiencing to delights (?) of that city for a few days.

This type of arrangment is usually frought with danger, previously with other exotic cars, I fell victim to dodgy practices (even with Main Dealers), the fact I live abroad, seemed to allow them to think I would not be able to drop back with any problems after work done.

After much recommendation here, I feel safe enough in the hands of said Autoshield!

Watch this space....

Slan,

Pat.

Pat,

You are in very safe hands and have nothing to fear. Personally, I wouldn't deal with anyone else. He is an enthusiast, a fellow owner, a club member (and concours judge and winner), an authorised agent, a walking Maserati encyclopaedia and, above all, a very kind man. Both myself and my father have spent many a day in his company (!) and he and the boys at Autoshield really know their stuff.

You won't find better - old school specialists like this are not typical these days. And you'll love his shop- full of memorabilia!

I'd say get to the hotel, have a g&t and relax ...
