Moving swiftly on!

Bit of maintenance on my old Merc. Some rust to sort with a bit of paint and a general clean and seal. 103948
Liners out103949

Cleaned and waiting for it to dry before paint prep.

Does seem to stop rust spreading. There’s a bunch of different chemical rust converters and they’re probably much of a muchness.

is a bit of a minefield trying to decide on the best product as they all bang on about their own products and how wonderful it is

The only one I’ve tried that I didn’t like was one that contained latex, supposedly used offshore, it converts the rust and encapsulates it with the latex but made painting very difficult.

I've used POR 15 Metal Prep over the last few years then a coat of isopon zinc 182 and never had any rust reappear, did try the Dinitrol rust converter once and not impressed with it

She'll look good down the Bowls Club mate.

Stick the liners back in and you won’t see any of it. Just wonder whether I should try and sort a possible injector problem (bit smelly at idle) before I take it to Switzerland or if that’s asking for trouble!
