i used to have the 80 sport with the fake split rims and then a a metallic purple one like the one ive just bought, just love the extra 3 gauges below the radio, gearbox is sweet and just a quality car, galvanised bodywork as well

And here is our Audi 80 end of line rare B3 Sport Edition, in Cerise Metallic, with the Speedline Alloys you mention and VDO gauges. 1991 and only 34K miles totally original even down to dealer pinstripes. This is for sale and I make no apology for the price; find another.....

About 6 months but most of that time has been spent going through it when time allowed (coolant flush and fluids etc and fixing little niggles such as the central locking). A few nibbles but buyers wanting to part-ex cars that we don't want and that don't fit our profile. Oh and one lovely chap who took the time to email me and tell me his mate had one he paid £50 and half a pack of Polo Mints for and that I was a 'deluded ****' :)

Tell me about selling something nice and the characters it attracts.
When selling my 360 Modena F1 before going to NZ I attracted all the Ali G idiots who wanted to swap their 700 HP Evos it drove me nuts.
When selling my first 4200 a Dentist from Swindon complained to Matt about me.
I wouldn't let him drive it after he parked his Subaru Impreza outside my house.

a 4 door saloon car from the 80's.
A buyer really wants one for a particular reason, maybe their first car, first **** on the back seat

That is lovely.
Just right for someone who has nostalgic connections for the model, their first car maybe, first **** on the back seat...!!

Exactly! Someone like me :)

If I didn't have my 90 quattro I would buy my 80 Sport without blinking. I think some people are also realising that these cars are still very usable today and perhaps more sustainable; certainly more comfortable and better visibility than most new cars which will depreciate by more than the asking price of these in year one. Much lighter as well and the performance is surprising, especially to other road users :)

No, there was a 2.2E then 2.3E and a 20V all available as quattro and non-quattro versions. I owned all of them when new in the late 80s and 90s.

Here is my current Audi 90 2.2E quattro, one owner before me and 14K miles. Stunning early 1987 carView attachment 76817View attachment 76818View attachment 76819View attachment 76820
I like that a lot! My brothers had a couple of Coupes of the same era. I had my RS2 for over 100,000 miles - rather drawn to this sort of age of Audi.

They are wonderful things and easily capable of six figure mileages as you found in the wonderful, game-changing RS2. I love the Coupes as well and we had a V6 and an S2 through this year and they have not aged at all in terms of road presence. Having re-visited this era of Audi I was worried I might have rose-tinted glasses on regarding my memories of them. I did not. They are great.

You are right about the depreciation aspect and visability.
I do find the lack of visability with modern cars frustrating, you do need all the parking sensors and reversing cameras on even the smallest cars because you sit so low, with simply rubbish rear visability!
I'll always take my little Pinin into town rather than any other car, sat up straight and high, and glass 360 degree all around!

MAF had a convertible I believe, mint, sold it and the chap totalled it in the way home.

Gutted!

Such a massive shame - the buyer flew down from Scotland to collect and drive it home. He couldn't believe how clean it was, didn't haggle the price as he couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Very rare Cricket Green - only available for the last 6 months of production
