Don't Bentley Azures go for cheap money nowadays. Not sure i'd want the job of rebuilding the Heinkels!

Oddly appealing and why, if I had the cash, alcohol and auctions would be a terrible idea:

Oh dear

There was a lot of stuff that went to way over what it was worth, can't believe some of the prices. The Fiesta, the Bond Bug the E Type with lots of bits missing for example.

A lot of the results are just at top end of estimate plus the 8% + vat buyer's premium. Auctions at ACA used to struggle to meet low end of estimate. Either estimates are more realistic or, given it is a bit out of the way in King's Lynn, the move to online bidding has helped push prices up as there are now more eyes on the sales.

@Doctor Houx will have a better insight as he is a regular in person attendee and buyer/seller at ACA.

Auction prices across the board the past 12 months have been strong, some think due to lockdown boredom and self-employed spending bounce bank loans etc.

Apparently used car prices in Oz are up 35% because you can’t order a new one in the spec you want for months!
Hands up, I called that wrong.

Everything is only worth what someone is willing to pay, so on the day that is what they were worth, that's not say they will be worth that tomorrow.

My experience at ACA when we bought the T2 was most stuff went for silly money either way though, I guess that is the nature of auctions. Alex got a bargain with the camper as it was almost the last motor of the day and everyone had walked out after the last exciting motor Aston DB went over the block.

Basically he got it for the same money two shells LHD Cali’ imports unrestored each achieved. They were little more than VIN numbers on wheels.

It always said that you should never lose control of yourself at an auction, so my admiration goes to those who just walk away once it's gone over their limit.

Just one more bid sir? You never know....

I think that is right. Lots more bored people at home looking on line. Prior to lockdown, most of the sales here were in person and now all online. I’m amazed at some of the prices for some real dross!
