Mate bought this recently and then decided he didn't like the colour, offered it me for £200 so I snapped it up, no idea what it's like but reviews seem good and one of my work colleagues swears by Gretsch. It should arrive in the next week of so

I neither got around to learning an instrument, but I made sure I got my kids had a go at it; not for a career just so that they have had the experience. They played the violin for a while, their choice, I was hoping they would pick the guitar. My son also used an iPad app for a while and he made some good progress teaching himself the piano.
Have a look at this YouTube video of a girl/young woman practising and documenting her progress over a year. I like it for it's honest but uplifting message. If you are in for the long haul (by now with a YouTube channel and merch) watch the 4 year progress video.

This one is my son a few years ago, striving to win an actual Slash (fogies will have to google him) guitar, by covering one of his songs, only to find out on the day it was US citizens only....

He was about 17 then, yes he's got the skill and technique but like he'll tell anybody, it didn't just happen, it was years of practise and dedication.

And here's his channel, please subscribe! Even with the 15k subscribers he has (Jesus that's a lot isn't it?) he only makes about £15 a quarter with GoogleAds...
