It's these projects and the super rich willing to buy them that are supplying McLaren Automotive a lot of cash, Senna, P1, Speedtail etc. All pre-sold and all desirable in their own way.

And also **** ugly. That Senna is filthy nasty horrible.

I'll take a 720S Spider, please.

New Vantage roadster finally revealed as well. Seems to work but I know lots don't like the face.

It's a bit anonymous for my liking ... that could easily be mistaken for an Audi TT or the lovechild of a Jag.

Not a fan of the new Vantage even in ragtop, a real shame as the previous version is one of my all time greats. The Senna is trying to hard but the Speedtail is lovely harks back to the older style prototypes of the late 80s early 90s

To what extent does AM own it's ability to survive it's multiples insolvencies to James Bond?

In the US and here to the average man, an Aston Martin is James Bond's car. Instant cool, instant cachet, instant nostalgia of wanting to be James Bond. You even get people driving to the same roads in Scotland and posing with their cars, ala Daniel Craig.

Yes the previous generation was stunning looking, I had one, but I think many other companies have produced just as good if not better cars.

The hand-building of the cars, which makes them special, and the James Bond factor, I think is the reason it still exists.

It's what BMW so successfully removed from the Mini, heritage.

I think it works. Its a great looking car with roof up or down especially with the new grill...When you look at the front end of the Coupe the Roadster looks much better now that they have removed the surround and the mesh grill. I think they have done a very good job and can see why the front grill is available on the Coupe as well....

Yes, agreed, it's much tidier now, Andy.

Maybe they’re learning from the past. Their last attempt at sportscars and F1 at the same time almost bankrupted them.

I see the F1 team is still called Racing Point (not Aston Martin) for this season.

Is that not because they still have a sponsorship deal with Red Bull?

Also I think all other teams have to agree to a name change and I think the new team can't carry anything over like points or entry fee. I assume Racing Point have already entered under that name and hence any changes would trigger a potentially costly change.

IIRC that was confirmed when it was announced that Stroll had bought a stake. Probably too late to change everything.
