No deaths related to corona virus in Wales today for the first time during this second wave of the pandemic. No one knows what tomorrow might bring, but none the less today is a good result and long may it continue.

Regarding working from home, I have no personal experience of working from home but I am sure there are so many who have had the best times of their lives doing so over the last year or so. It’s not been a hardship, nor has it been a hardship for all those being paid a fair percentage to remain at home without working at all. It’s those who have had to deal with this situation with nothing, or very little handed out that I feel sorry for. Those who are actually struggling to survive from day to day because of this pandemic, and they do exist.

I've jab envy, one of my mates at 53 (and a half) has just had the jab, they have cleared all the 55+ and working downwards from his local docs.

The thing is
another wave and potentially 30,000 more deaths.
Is a slightly different phrasing to what he actually said. Which rather more than slightly changes the perceived message.
'Even with a gradual lifting of restrictions, modelling suggests, there could be another 30,000 deaths before the summer of 2022.' is, I believe closer to what he actually said. As is this:

'It was impossible to predict exactly how many would die, Prof Whitty said.
He said it would be a "significant number", though nothing like we had seen over the past year.'

Well if it's any consolation, us lot up here
(Cumbria) are only just getting our vaccinations now.... and I'm 59!. The earliest date that myself and Mrs Silvercat could get the vaccination is Tuesday 16th March and we have to drive 28 miles to get it.
