If you keep your distance from everyone else then you should be safe whether they are wearing a mask or not and, if you wash /cleanse your hands as often as you want what does it matter if I don’t? Are you going to handle my cup, cutlery, plate or shopping? I suspect not, so what does it matter if I wash my hands (more than normal) or not? Look after yourself and if you are not happy with a situation, then get out of it. I’m taking my chances and if I get sick I won’t be bothering the NHS. Consequently I won’t be getting a Covid test as all that proves is either you have it or you don’t. At that moment. The sooner we can start tailoring this situation to our personal needs the better or the country will lurch from lock-down to crisis to lock-down.

As I said, I agree that my life is my responsibility, so am doing all those things I feel necessary to say as safe as practicable.

But I'm also doing those things so I don't unknowingly pass a virus on to someone else that may end up seriously ill or dead.
I really don't see it as much of a sacrifice.

Can you explain why you do? (genuinely interested)

I agree with Benny. We have tried all sorts and nothing is working as it should due to people not complying. Just be an honest, decent, thoughtful citizen and we can all get on with our lives with 75% normality in the short term and likely 95% normality in the medium to long term.

We have ruined an economy, business and lives also continuing to do so that is disparate and I'm slammed to deal with this virus. The Black Plague for most it isn't. We know this.

If we continue tiptoeing around the issue we will have caused more deaths than Covid is actually responsible for. Maybe more already.

Get tough on the idots which is something we don't do enough of at the best of times. A tough hand is required now more than ever.

The people are speaking.....and are speaking sense. We pay for politicians/ idiots (same thing!) to be there so just listen to sensible thoughts and instruction.

Your first sentence completely contradicts the rest of your post ;):mock8:

If the whole world went bankrupt, would that not just reset everything? The sun will still rise.

That would be ideal to reset all the inflated economies.... However, I fear we wouldn't do too well out if it, as only the countries that actually have physical assets would win.

I’m worried that if this goes on too much longer, my GTS will become a Ferrari. It’s just passed its MOT - 308 miles since the last one. Proper garage queen.

If that person is like me and is happy to take a chance it doesn’t really matter to them or me and likewise if I catch it from them. If someone like you with underlying health issues takes the necessary precautions they won’t catch it off me. If they don’t take the necessary precautions and do catch it and they die, then that is down to them and the decisions they make. If you take responsibility for your own life then life can get back to normal a dam sight quicker than it is likely to using the present system. if I do catch it, and that‘s assuming I haven’t already had it, I will deal with it at home and I won’t be bothering the NHS, in the same way I wouldn’t bother them if I caught the flu. FyI, I do usually cleanse my hands if there is a bottle there but I don’t go looking for one, I give the necessary gap to other people if all possible and I wear a mask in shops but not in the street.

Watching the news....
Reporter asks the Home Secretary,
Isn’t it time to admit that this Government has lost control of this virus....
They are actually stood outside a venue where the police were investigating after 150 people were found at a wedding....
Should have fined every person in there and the venue...

This is the problem , if you're going to make rules they have to be enforced or what's the point , we'll double the fine if you don't comply

Will I get fined

Probably not

OK thanks

Thanks for the honest reply.
Prior to that, I was getting the impression that you might have been one of those that refuse to wear a mask in shops, won't cleans hands and would just walk up to someone trying to keep their distance, invading their space. :);)
Just shows how easy it is to miss-judge someone on places like this.

Absolutely. I‘m not a denier, it’s more a case of using a bit of common sense in order not freak out the people who are taking it a lot more seriously than I am. If this state of affairs continues, this country will be f*cked for decades to come, so something needs to be done to get the country working properly again.
