Agree- and sort them out
It’s really complicated and multifactorial - the points you make have some validity. I suppose the easiest way to explain it is to use and analogy. Considering 60-70% of patients who need ventilation die anyway - let’s compare to a fighter pilot ace from World War Two. An ace may shoot down 30% incoming enemies, an experienced and brace pilot may shoot down a few. A novice is just using a plane for the sake of looking like he is trying, and someone who can’t fly will just expose himself to risk for no reason. There’s a tricky balance but most anaesthetists maintain- there is likely to be enough ventilators for them to handle but not the staff. Can’t say too much on air - but if you can’t give your pilots a mask each- how are you going to man a shiny new fleet of fighter jets bought from industry..
The thing is I fear he is wasting his time. The population that get it, understand and generally toe the line are in the main doing it. The rest will use the letter as toilet paper.
We have not been hard enough IMHO on crime and people who don't toe the line and try to be valid and useful members of society.
To me this doesn't just include actually criminals but lots guilty or moral crimes. Unscrupulous businesses and executives skirting round tax laws with complex accounts practices. The media with the poor attempts of journalism. Businesses using and abusing staff. The list goes on and on.
Some people need to take a real hard look in the mirror and even then if they can't see what they are doing is not morally correct the state should help them to understand.
We have seen lots of good and lots of bad in people during this period and I'm not sure what is the more common trait. That is a sad thing to say and sorry state of affairs.
UK Government Press Conference this afternoon. In France?
£103 a week in 1990 , were you working in Bangladesh;
Are we playing speeding fine top trumps?
I got done doing exactly 100 on the M1 in 1990, fined £235 Serious wedge at the time. I was 19, my weekly wage was £103, the car I was in only cost £800
As someone said earlier, a crisis like this brings out the best in some folk and the worst in others. IMHO if an individual intentionally endangers someone's health, e.g. by spitting or coughing at them, the offender should forfeit their human rights and be named and shamed without delay.People like Mike Ashley?
Agreed , I know somebody who's brother is stuck in Peru, this has been going on for 2 months plus now so it's not like it was a surprise , yes they need to get home but £1500 each would make them realise how stupid a decision it was , why should the taxpayer payThere was a woman stuck in India on TV just now, wanted the RAF and British Government to send a plane to pick her up because she was stuck there, couldn't get home.
There seem to be a lot of Brits stuck in all parts of the world.
Why are they all bleating now wanting to get the British Government to bring them home (and pick up the bill?).
We all knew 6-7 weeks ago this was going to kick off, take some responsibility for your own actions, you should have got yourselves home WEEKS AGO.
I think our government have got enough on their plates right now, sorry, petal but you should have got your *** home weeks ago.

I worked for Loake Shoes 1988-1990 , piecework I was earning £300-£330 a week
There was a petrol station outside , petrol was £1.59 a gallon for weeks
That's f's me off at the best of times. Fuc-ing vox pop. Reporter asks some moron in the, street their inane opinion in one sentence. It's pretty much the reason I can't watch TV news any moreWhat pissing me off as well is reporters being sent to stand outside to report ...... Apparently it's essential work.....Is it feck. They can all do what they do from home. Don't need to see them in a street or outside Parliment.
Give staff masks and stop them dyingIs best the enemy of good here? I get the analogy but what's the alternative? Just build enough ventilators that we can put staff on? Focus efforts elsewhere?

Wasn’t the eye witness accounts of the police good enough for youA clearly un-popular view, but innocent until proven guilty?
