Hmmm....

This is potentially quite encouraging research at Oxford, and we will know more when the UK has the resources to do a randomised population exposure test. Maybe next week, I would guess.

Iceland (the country, not the shop) has the potential to an interesting laboratory for this sort of study. In an initial sample of fairly random testing of 2,000 people, only 1% of the population had been exposed to the virus, but more encouragingly 50% of those have had no symptoms at all.

Here is a render of the unit I've been involved in developing. The electronics that I and five other guys designed are inside the box mounted on the side of the bed. I must say I'm very proud to be working on such a fantastic project.

The first prototypes are being built tomorrow and if all goes well, production will be begin immediately. Three weeks from inception to prototype is incredible for a medical device.

This is a fantastic achievement by the whole team and no doubt in record time!!. But one thing is worrying me a bit is, there are now 3000 companies involved in designing and manufacturing the emergency respirators, if they are all to different designs will this not put a huge training burden on the front line NHS, at a time when they can least deal with it? Or are these things pretty easy to operate?

Can you apologise in advance.........after you have called somebody out?

And I think MarkMas was both applauding Doodlebug and being self-deprecating
I disagree. Unsurprisingly- you can apologise in advance if you put it in the original communique. I didn’t apologise for missing the ‘us’ which I will now Mark!! PS- RWC- Nice tractor. Were you on the way to deliver some medicines or skulking in luxury? It’s times like this everyone should be pulling together...

Yeah, sorry about the missing 'us' I concede that this did make it less clear than I thought. And my response, to your response, might therefore have been a bit too vigorous.

‘ I am trying to communicate some data. I try to avoid posting scare stories from the Press, images of military movements’ MarkMas I posted some military pics earlier and my intention was merely to state the involvement of the Army at some point. Point taken the pictures were ‘not the best’ seems strange that you seem to want others to stop making assumptions but you possibly are doing the same. Anyway I never intended any misinformation and at these testing times it’s about sticking together. Stay safe all.

Sorry, point of order I thought Mark had disputed the veracity and / or interpretation of said photos and was (from memory) pretty soundly lambasted....

Apologies (both in advance and after the fact) if my memory is not what it was ;)

The organisation is mind boggling. I have spent 12 hours a day for the past three weeks
Yes, sorry about the missing 'us' - that would have helped.
i am confused. Was there no ‘us’ initially!

The army are being widely used to deliver equipment to the front line and help set up field hospitals I believe.

Been doing that here in France for 10 days plus.
You were never supposed to go further than 15 kilometres from your home address here unless a key worker.
Yep.....my mate got stopped in Thirsk yesterday...he had his "I'm an essential worker letter with him" although how they can tell whether you are going to/from work or the shop mystifies me...
