See this is what confuses me. I thought we were being told we only venture out for essential travel or to work if you are a key worker or can't work from home.

Trouble is this means that half of the country are still out and about and not locked down at all.

I was pretty much berated for questioning if you tubers doing car videos should be out and about carrying on as normal. Apparently they should be and are fine as cannot work from home and they should be allowed to work and earn a living. However many other people aren't allowed to work at all. Very contradictory.

Either lock it down or don't as I can't see this trying to do a middle ground is working.

Half arsed, unorganised, almost a year too late quarantine (10 days is too short as well) for incoming travellers too.

Those in charge were all “Negligent ”.

The EU really have the hump over us Brits snaffling up all the vaccine. Tough titty anyone?

As far as I can tell, we're not really snaffling it all up. We have our own supply chain that was instigated when we signed the contract, and has got over the teething issues that these things normally have. The EU also have their own supply chain which was instigated quite a lot later, with different contracts and, because it's not as developed, is still dealing with the teething issues.

It does rather seem that our friends in the EU, to borrow the parlance, are somewhat upset, indeed.

Isn’t the phrase ‘friends in the EU’ known as an oxymoron?

Would people care to comment on all teachers being given the vaccine next? Then, what about other "essential workers"
So, in no particular order............
1/ Teachers
2/ Firemen
3/ Policemen including CID
4/ Army, Air force, Navy
5/ Bus, train, coach drivers
6/ Dustmen
7/ Shop staff
8/ Public loo cleaners
9/ Vetinarians
10/ Dentists
11/ Undertakers

At this rate i'll get my vaccine in about 2024.........which will still be faster than most Europeans will get it at their current rates of innoculations.

Doesn’t much matter how you slice the cake there is only so much cake on order.

if you vaccinate the teachers and school staff, you don’t reduce the super spreading amongst the students, you just reduce the sickness levels amongst the staff.

There were some figures from jobs earlier in the week and catering/hospitality was the riskiest at 3 times the national average for dying.

sounds about right, my daughter regularly rants about the idiots either with no mask or pulling the mask down whilst leaning around the screen to talk at them in Starbucks. They then get even more irate when the staff back away in reaction.

You have missed of banks / financial services firms. Perhaps not a popular vote but if we are talking essential ....

Link to that? Last ones I read were that factory workers and security guards were the worst risk.

In some of our places, which are almost exclusively old, poorly ventilated, and packed with people unable to distance to any degree etc; c25% of staff have had a positive covid test now.

Yes, key workers, but not on any priority list.
