My cousin is/was a bit of a hacker. He hacked South African airways system to get a job with them.
As he told them their system was rubbish and needed to be protected better.

He got the job.

He then told Microsoft a similar thing and said if you don't improve your protection he'll sit with them and hack their system in under an hour.
They didn't believe him and he did exactly what he said he would. And got the job.
He the decided he wanted to do another degree at Oxford or Cambridge (I forget which) and they said they would pay for his tuition, his accommodation and expenses just as long as he came back to work for them afterwards.

He turned them down!

The last I heard (whist he was at Uni there was a massive family falling out) he was employed by the Chinese Government earning gazillions........

Good for him :)
Certainly not the first time I've heard of similar stories so I wish him every success.

I probably get upwards of 20 emails a day that get past filters for junk; the last two months however there has been a ‘heavy bombardment’ telling (upwards of 40 a day) me my (don’t have) Norton subscription is expired, now increasingly McAfee and I suspect they will move on to others soon. Most annoyingly blocking has no effect as every one is from a different ‘sender’.

That one online purchase of blue pills keeps on delivering then?

You need a better filter then. I get up to 200 emails like that a day. I use Spambayes on server. Dump all the **** into a sample folder (and the occasional false catch in a 'Not spam' folder) and every 12 hours it updates its database. Sometimes I look at go 'WTF are you letting that through for' but mostly it'll be killed next time.

More than happy to help ;)

Some examples might well inform the discussion. I'm curious. Don't forget simply having a different opinion is fine. The problems lies elsewhere.

This is a fascinating area. Linked to the deserving poor. 'Wisely' is an intensely individual view. What I think is a wise way to spend public money is very different from my mother's, for example. But again, some ideas of specifics to which you refer would interest me (not speaking for anyone else!)

There is also a factor attribution where we seek to determine why people do the things they do and typically rate our own motivations far higher than others.

Having worked with many auditors, I have the greatest respect for the process. I think you're blanketing informed and curious scepticism with the massive application of confirmation bias and group polarasiation.

Anyway, would love to see some of the examples above, but either way, keep safe :)

I'd be happy to expand C, although I'm not sure that it's wise to do so on an open forum. Happy to discuss if you want to pm me.

Made it back safely from JCUHospital earlier today.
Pleased to say protective equipment was freely available to the public and all I saw were using it.
The place was clean and tidy (not always the case in the past) and the trip was uneventful thankfully.
I did notice the number of large people in the throng is still high. One guy was challenged for not wearing a mask!! He promptly put it on.
Why though are there so many vending machines and cafeteria selling chocolates cola and crisps etc in a hospital?
£3.00 parking fee for 1 hour.
It is a large hospital and half of it is given over completely to the Covid cases
My friend's hearing test went ok too :)

For those who are giving the government a good bashing regarding the corona battle, the last 4 columns on this comparison chart are decent benchmarks..

Have now been fever free for 2 days, and according to test and trace my 10 day isolation is now over, will get a test booked to make sure before I release my self for work, boy do I feel done in, think the effects of this are going to be with me for a long time, if not permanently, lost nigh on a stone in a week (other methods of weight loss are available, and are preferable) Thanks for all the support, means a lot, especially as have only ever met a handful of you. James.

Great news that the fever has gone, how’s the cough. What’s your main recommendation to anyone else who might find themselves unfortunate enough to be in your situation ?. Glad everything seems to be heading in the right direction for you, your over the worst.

Cough is still there and slowly getting worse, although the blood has gone, Test and trace are not worried about the cough, in fact they say I may have it for months, the advice from the Dr was to take Honey and Lemon to relieve the symptoms. Been on Paracetamol every four hours and keeping the fluid level up is about all you can do.
