Now C here:Personally I think if people weren't behaving like kids and being smug about the logical edge cases and carping about them on social media, then complaining that the measures (which they delight in picking holes in) don't work <breathe> then results would be a lot better.
NB I am not suggesting that you are one of those, @Phil H , just making a statement on my observations on social media and behaviour in the real world. Legal disclaimer: Other opinions are available and my perception does not equal your reality.

Now C here:
The only participation I have in social media is this forum; I'm not on Facebook, Instagram, or any others so they don't contribute to my views.
I am old enough and wise enough to treat other media with caution, as I do politicians.
In short, I don't believe everything I'm supposed to!
That said, I know from personal experience the stupidity of Covid naysayers who risk not only their own health but that of others. IMHO there is sufficient legislation in place to deal with them if the will is there to do so on the part of the authorities but all too often the will seems to be lacking, and mixed messages from politicians don't help one iota.
WRT to my being the only Phil on the forum you know that I'm not. I do claim, though, to be the first having joined the forum in the first week (or maybe the second) when I was so much younger and a little more sane; luckily my good looks and charisma remain with me, although after so many years of Maserati ownership the bank balance is somewhat depleted.
Take care mate and keep safe.

OK, @Phil H my attempt at de-barbing my comments have failed, for which I apologise. No offence was intended, but I recognised the possibility that it might happen anyway, and did not take sufficient steps.
My post was very much not aimed at you, your post simply triggered my reaction. No more, no less.
As for the Phil, I was actually seeking to suggest that @philw696 was 'one Phill too many' and in no way meant to suggest that you were (a Phil too many)
My unreserved apologies for any offence.

Hey C, no apology is needed as my hide has thickened with age (you really don't want to witness it - no honestly it's not a pretty sight) and it would take more than a bit of banter to pierce it.OK, @Phil H my attempt at de-barbing my comments have failed, for which I apologise. Phils and thrills and belly-aches.
I'm not a Phil but I'd also like to be offended. Must I make an appointment, or can I just turn up?

Clearly keeping abreast of the situation.
I've been to the pub for two meals since March, same as you , won't be going back , too limited a menu, too many rules, the occasional ******** and no real need for it., 20 bottles of becks for £9.99 in lidlThough we would try a quick pint after work - having been stuck in a non ventilated floor all day with 50 plus builders who I have no idea where they come from or how they live - 5 of us went to the pub
you must wear a mask when walking to table - you can remove it when seated
you must wear a mask if you need a pee
you must wear a mask when you leave and walk past the people you have been sitting next to for an hour
you cannot walk out the same door you walked in - so must walk past loads more people to get out
the group of 5 sitting at a table for 4 people is a hanging offence
I won’t bother again
