I'm of the opinion that it already has. China being a communist country will always play these things down.
If they say 10 people have died it is more than likely to be 100.
If it's 100 it'll be 1,000 and so on.

Unless the 24.5k fatalities figure is correct then the lock down makes much more sense.

Possibly,but if that’s the case how many are already dead or dying behind locked doors as it would take years to check on all of those households.
The cruise ship is a mini community (better sanitation). The infection rate on it will give an insight into what’s going on in China - and as one of a few thousand they have a better chance of correct medical care than those in China where hospitals are clearly overwhelmed.

The figures of infected coming out of China relate to what? Tests done 3 weeks ago, yesterday, last month.....what? A simple PSA test here takes about 5 days.....what’s their turnaround time for the results they’re publishing.

To end on a positive note, America has the best experts in the world and has offered assistance. Once it’s learnt to count up the DMC votes cast a day ago.

While I'll happily agree that the Chinese are not exactly open, I'm struggling to think that the WHO are in on it, and there's not a single independent virologist / epidemiologist challenging the figures (or at least not one that anyone's posted about)

Everyone who I've seen (thanks Wattie) claiming it's much worse have a pretty clear agenda and are openly either misusing stats or simply jumping to conclusions and claiming a logical link. As well as being (for example) lawyers....

So for 200-500 extra on 1.65m it’s caused this,
Doesn’t sound normal to me.
Flu’s killed around 1000 per month in the states.

Oh we all know this. Look at their trade figures

But in this case the Chinese, The WHO, the US govt, the UK govt and about a thousand others appear to be telling the same lies. Unlike with the trade figures where they are immediately questioned.

Unless someone wants to point me at some more evidence of disagreement? More than happy to view it (as Wattie will attest)
