Are we really that desperate for a drink?

Nah, it'll be fine. The BBC keeps demanding to know what the government are doing to make people feel safe......So clearly everyone is far too worried to go school or go shopping.....

I am really conflicted about going to local pubs and restaurants this weekend.
On one hand I want to support the local publicans and restauranteurs, on the other I don’t want to put myself in the line of fire unnecessarily.
We may pop to the local and see wants what, late one afternoon to show willing.

I won't be going near any pub/restaurant for weeks if not months.

Easing will bring cases back quite sharpish and the standard of hygine in most pubs loos is appalling.

I suspect we will see more locations locked down like Leicester (There are 10 on a list already under watch) so a nice meal at home or in the garden here.

On a separate note... hair cut booked for Sunday before I look like Phil the Gaul!

I think a lot of responsible publicans will not open tomorrow, Martin has decided not to open his pub in London for at least another week to let the initial rush calm down.

This weekend will be carnage...………..Although the volume we have delivered is around 50% against projection...Be interesting to see what happens but no way will someone who has had a skin full obey social distancing.

Stop the panic people. this reads like a SAGA or Mumsnet forum. Booked a nice country pub with outdoor table, waiter service, some snacks a few beers all very civilised.... Won't be going into any pubs other than to use the toilet (one in one out). with attendant on door..... Let's get back to normality ASAP.

That's nothing like the normality for many!

Oh please! It's kept the 'Are you worried yet thread going for months

Huge spike in cases from easing lockdown: Nope
Huge spike in cases from BLM protests: Nope

I'm for normal, with sensible precautions. I won't be going to the pub, but very rarely did anyway. Got a couple of days booked away in August. Was going to be Tangier but rather more prosaically now, Cromer :D

Without sounding like a snob, Weatherspoons and Yates wine lodges will be carnage. You local village pub with a beer garden should be fine.
Although I'm not desperate, feet up with a Friday beer.

I've always quite liked Wetherspoons but anyway. I doubt they'll be as bad as people want to make out. Maybe a couple of days then people will remember that they can meet their friends at home and drink even cheaper.....

Agree Peter. The antics at the pub next door will be observed, not that I'd wish to enter it in any event but I won't be compromising my own shielding nor anyone else for some considerable time

Round here pubs were (pre CV) busy on w/end and if something like a Quiz was on during the week.
Sunday to Thursday there were about 5 people in and we were worried they would go under through lack of trade

My thoughts as well....We have been clearing Weatherspoons for two weeks and stocking them for a week and a half..........They will be carnage.........You can see the young ones now after a few pints....'get out of my space'....'I'm not in you space ars4hole'.........both of them then in each other's space.....
