Paintwork is one of my biggest bug bares when poorly executed.
Everytime I get a car on a two post lift you see laquer runs, sand paper scratches and overspray everywhere it drives me nuts.
Having worked for Dealers the number of brand-new cars that have repairs done that new buyers don't even know about.
I'm going to write a book one day ;)

To be fair the 4200 you bought was probably one of the cheapest available at the time, a high mileage example (100k ish), that you had resprayed but unfortunately the respray failed quickly in the usual areas sadly (I was sad to see this myself before you sold it, especially as the painter was a recommendation on here), plus you had a few mechanical issues along the way too that could be put down to mileage.
So your ownership experience wasn't the best unfortunately.

Agreed

It was probably the strip down that caused some of the electrical problems, I had agreed a sale prior to the electrical problems but the day after the agreement the ignition problem started, I wasn't one for selling something undisclosed so told him and unfortunately it was a bridge too far, he did come and have another look a few weeks later but decided it wasn't the car for him.

Basil Fawlty moment came when it'd been garaged over the winter , I started it , running fine, then steam from the radiator , RIGHT THAT'S IT YOU'RE GETTING IT NOW :D

One thing we can agree on is Bolton Wanderers are certainly more resilient with four at the back even though we only got a 1-1 at home.
