So Maserati is a premium brand, I think we all agree.

When you drive one people might think you've got a few quid.... But do we really?

It's just a bit of fun on a Friday night, your vote will not be submitted to HMRC
Surely you should go first Dan

If you assume 2. means TVRs, then yes ;)
Definitely 2.....although there might be more incoming at some point!. Not TVR's though....just other cars.

Definitely not 1 though as I have an abundance of stuff that has not such a great value to me.

It is weird as I am trying to increase my wealth only to be able to do the thing so that I want to do that would make me happy.

I agree it is far easier to do things on a daily basis that make you happy rather than do things that don't particularly make you happy in order to acquire what you need to get to a point that you're happy.

Wasn't it Mark Twain who said find a job you enjoy doing and you will never have to work a day in your life?

Wise words I think. I wish my parents had read that quote.

So for me I am wealthy in respect to health and wife, kids, house, clothes, food and a few decent (to me) cars and comfortable financially. However it is really hard to define wealth financially as I just don't associate the two words together.

Any one that thinks wealth is financial I think is misguided or will realise things when they achieve what they defined financial wealth.

I am 50/50 on being a billionaire as on one hand it would allow me to do so many things I would love to do for others. It would also come with a whole set of complications I don't really want and also great responsibility that I need not worry about currently.

I can only answer the fiscal side of the question as I did if the property market remains as is or rises ever more stupidly. The down side of that is if we do move it will need to be away from London at least 20 miles to make it worthwhile, 30-40 miles would be even better but would be a pain for working.

As far as riches in life go, I am truly blessed, five grown up children, two grandchildren and likely many more. Many great friends here and elsewhere to add to that. I would say however that it took me at least till my 40’s to start to realise what life was really about and what true wealth is. It isn’t bricks and mortar or folding money that is just a drain. True wealth is your health and family.

Life: drive it like you stole it and arrive at the pearly gates sideways, in flames and yelling “what a rush, can I go again!”

I consider myself very fortunate. I have good friends who have very little, some who are reasonably ok, and some very wealthy. The perspective this has given me has convinced me that there is absolutely no relationship between wealth and happiness. I accept that there are basic requirements needed (food, roof, warmth etc) but after that it never ceases to amaze me how happiness in life varies, regardless of wealth.
Everything is relative. Unfortunately too many of us have spent too much time looking up rather than down the wealth ladder so perhaps not appreciating what we really have. Life is short, health is much more important and I think everyone would be a lot happier if we appreciate what wevhave. Striving is fun but not the end game. That's my philosophy anyway and I am very happy!
