Hi all,

The title says it all really... I’m thinking about possibly buying one of the new series 5 Apple Watches and wondered if anyone on here is a user and has thoughts on whether it‘s any good?

I don't have one, I use Garmin Fenix 5s. But my good friend bought one.
It promptly alerted him that his heart rhythm was in AF, several times.
I told him either the watch was naff or his ticket was on the Fritz.
Trip to doctors, followed immediately by trip to hospital, consultation with cardiologist, ongoing treatment for severe AF....
So for him it was a pretty impressive investment!!

Lots of false positives from them (well it was probably the Series 4, or maybe 3) though.

Had my s5 for almost a year now and wear it every day. Re the ecg it is handy having af myself I can run it but it doesn’t run when rate is over 100! Seeks a resting rate. Not a biggy. Anyway I mostly use it in conjunction with Health app the track my daily movements and exercise (not bowels) which it does quite well.

Standard sports strap is pants and will slip off at a slight knock but I gave not yet found a suitable alternative particularly for water sports. The waterproof is great on it. As far as the Apple brand is; yes you know you are paying probably x3 over an alternative but they all work seamlessly.
