In todays S Times, Ingear section, they go over the increasing interactions between car and multi-functional phone.

They describe how by connecting your phone to the car's diagnostic port ( Kiwi OBDII cable mentioned...not sure if this is ok for Maseratis?) will allow you to decode check lights and tell what has become faulty. The apps mentioned are Rev ( iphone, £23.99)and Fuzzycodes (on iphone for free).

I was wondering if this was doable, anyone one done it...and then the next step would be, if doable and practicable, can you then reset your check light remotely via your mobile phone interacting with an SDII device at your indie dealer, by some miraculous interface device/2nd mobile phone/laptop?

I know this is almost sci-fi...wishful thinking for us remote owners....but think of the grief/hassle this would save for many of us....

Over to the technos/boffins who frequent this forum.....:)

Also mentioned is being able to monitor your cars performance with Dynolicious ( iphone app £7.49)...measures 0-60, 1/4 mile/g-forces.

Secondly, via the previously mentioned Rev app, can also check engine , fuel and driving data, air flow and engine temperature in graph form via the ECU.
