Apologies + Can I borrow your GT?

Firstly, I apologise to my wife and second to my QP V brethren,

Like many QP V owners I am ever tempted by the GT. I love my QP V and can't see myself getting a Chrysler QP VI. However with all the electric jazz and other reasons I am seriously thinking about a 4.7 GT.

I was looking at renting a GT for a weekend and it's circa 600 quid.

So: simply question would you lend me your 4.7 GT for the weekend for about 350 quid? I would drive about 250 miles in the period and play some very dubious music. Many insurance policies allow for other drives to drive with the owner's consent (although it's often under third part insurance). I thought I'd ask... I am based in SW London (Wimbledon).

If I get a GT my wife will hate me but I can live with some pink house paint and doing more dishes.
Interesting idea - but just imagine the consequences if this happened over that weekend.....
Rare, but it happened....

You can have them now but they aren't Satnav discs but Update 1 & 2 to the Bose system.
Yeah that sounds like them. If the updates are there already does it reload or ignore them? Imhave no idea what my software date is but still not got satnav maps to work. Just zits saying database loading.

understand each point of view.
What got me started ion this was a good mate went on tour and got caught speeding (in France). But really, really speeding such that he was arrested and cops took the car. He had to prove that someone else was insured on the car before cops would release the vehicle.
Nobody else was insured at that point.
Might seem unlikely scenario but it did happen. In any case pays to have A.N. other on my insurance in case I am unfit to continue.

Apologies if this suggestion resembles a load of geriatric shoemakers.
Franchise dealerships will lend vehicles to prospective customers for an extended test drive. As we all know.
I imagine that if you pull up in your QP, making noises about trading in and up, they ought to be
quite amenable. I heard via a friend on the south coast that high end yacht builders are having a
bumper year, following the government throwing our tax take around with abandon.
I've no idea if luxury car dealers are also celebrating. But, if you throw in that you'd be completing
the deal before year end, that might add to their incentive to lend you something.
Worth a phone call I'd have thought. £600 saved, hopefully.
If it works, you can thank me with a bottle of something ;)

are they not a tad on the short side to be called swords and i can confirm again that i defo wouldn't want to cross swords (or fecking humongous scary knives) with you

Yeah, they were (in the west only) called knives, but they evolved from something a little more slender. They're actually quite long, but don't look it because of the depth. There's also the direct translation from Chinese where jian refers to a double edged weapon and dao to a single edged weapon with little distinction between what we might call a dagger or knife.

Literally bart chum dao is eight slashing swords (or knives)

As a comparison, the Roman gladius was only a fraction longer.

I did read somewhere that the stubby roman sword was very effective tool at close quarter combat for stabbing/thrusting and slashing as they were double edged, i imagine yours could do a dam good job on carving the sunday roast as well ;)

I love my cars but am not precious about other people driving them, in fact I enjoy letting other people do so and appreciate their feedback good or bad, unfortunately I don't have a GT.

The insurance is easy, for a small admin fee adding another driver to your insurance for a short time is easy I use to do it every year for Le Mans until the insurance company asked why don't I just add the driver on permanently as it would be the same admin fee. This has worked out really well as my Le Mans buddy can now drive any of my classics, they are all on the same policy which has proved invaluable in moving them back and to between the UK and here over the last year or so. Unfortunately this will end when I move them on to Irish policies later this month, the system here is no where near as flexible.
