Rare AP racing brake kit for sale, used, but in good working order.

6 piston AP CP 5575 front calipers on 362mm fully floating discs. Rear calipers CP 6640 on OEM discs. Supplied with used Ferrodo DS2500 racing pads.

AP engineered these kits for Loz CB, the founder of this forum for his Gransport. They make a huge improvement to the braking on a GS or 4200, especially on track with no face after repeated heavy use.

On the car if you want to test. Car is in Surrey.

£4500 new, £2000 ono. Peter - peter.south.acii@gmail.com

The previous owner of this car did much to improve it and make it one of the best GranSports out there. I am returning it to standard and will be mothballing it. I have an offer on the brakes and I am just waiting for a deposit..

Not yet, it’s still on it’s way back. I honestly thought it was going to be a short in the starter motor or solenoid but it now appears to be the F1 pump relay. The relay fails and the pump continues to run until it burns itself out. I was quoted €2800 to replace it by some french garage in Lyon but I can do it myself for £190 and 4 hours labour. I’m going to replace the starter as well so that’s all the high-load equipment replaced. Hopefully, it will be fully serviceable and uprated for the next time it’s used in anger!

Those AP brakes are going to be impressive! ..I always thought a Wilwood big brake kit would work too as the parts are fairly reasonable

That would have been my next port of call but, thanks to Peter, this deal was too good to pass up.

Well, lost my chance on AP but luckily found used but in good condition front Wilwood lite callipers with 355 mm discs for Gbp 540 + fitting. Will paint the calipers to look same as rear Maserati ones. Benny, enjoy the APs! Very very jealous fellow of yours from Istanbul ;)

Is this a made up kit to retail or one off project?

Wilwood Caliper design is supposed to offer more flexibility for fitment but for sure will need self made extras. I just got it, will pay when I know it fits properly. But if Benny already looked at this, maybe he knows more?
