Anyone looking to sell a 4 seater Strad?

I recently sold my Mc Shift and I replaced it with a 991 S which is very capable but soulless car. I am now in the hunt for a 4 seater Strad. I am aware of the cars that are for sale on Pistonheads and Autotrader and I went to see the Strad at Newcastle Aston Martin today. Unfortunately it absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke and had a few dings and marks around it so its wasn't for me. I also think the price is a bit wishful and they have had bids in the low 60's for it over the phone.

Let me know if you are looking to sell or know of any coming up for sale.

Thanks

Carl

A Vanquish is in a different league for me.....V12 for starters and price as well. This car was what 80k more when new. Aston these days are in a different league to Maserati. Maserati are more a competitor to Jaguar etc....Look at the range. Great cars don't get me wrong but years ago I saw Maserati as an exclusive brand up there with Aston Martin etc...Not anymore. Going from a GT to a Vanquish for me is a step up.

It's not a step up if you need back seats!!! Lovely car though, the Vanquish, as a 2 seater.

Yes agree Ewan......was just talking in general. Not many competitors for the GT if you want 4 seats.....

Step up ?
Arguably a big step up in terms of BHP, build quality and Marque - but at a cost. Especially the S. They look sublime. But the back seats are a step down.
The Strad however is probably the best value for money and sounding car and looks fantastic.

Now sorted thanks. Total change of plans and bought a Vanquish.

Well done! Which one? I love the front of the Vanquish. Well, I love all of it, but the front is gorgeous. As others have said, the back seats are only any use for legless dwarfs or luggage. I hanker after a TDF Blue Volante S with that biscuity coloured interior. Fortunately, it seems like none were spec'd like that, which saves me the anguish of knowing I won't be buying it.

I drove a Vanquish to Le Mans a couple of yeas ago - very different to the Stradale - sounded great and looked good too espacially when loading it onto the train. Handling was designed for long hauls and not B roads in my experience.

Having said that I must admit to going to look at this DBS last Sunday and going up again this weekend.

Really taken to Astons lately but not sure whether its just my advancing years !

Comments about cost - DB9s, Vantage and the Rapide, in particalar, have dropped like a stone and going only one way and offer an equally good value for money in my eyes as a decent Maserati.

Much appreciated
Sorry to say he called me in a panic yesterday. Car was dropping out of gear and wouldn’t go into 6th. Main dealer diagnosed clutch over the phone, £3.5k please.

I asked him if the PARK OFF was on to which he replied yes, how did you know that?

Have you had any cold starting issues recently....’yes’ again, how did you know that?

I said turn it off by disconnecting the battery and go buy a Bosch S5 for Halfords.

Car started, drove fine and no light.

Cost £125

Conaero 1
Main Dealer 0

Owner: £3375 saving

I then asked him if he was still thinking of selling as he was after a Performante.

He said no. I asked why and he said the kids love it and £4£ nothing comes close.

So sorry, he’s sticking.

Be en looking longingly at the DBS for months and that one particularly looks stunning. I have always said a V12 Vantage is my dream car but I'm beginning to think I would have a DBS first if I could after looking around the Carbon Black a Edition one they have at Dick Lovett....Such an elegant car yet aggressive at the same time....Stunning........

These are the two I would hVe to take a look at if buying...

Nicholas Mee - Very rare with the Carbon Bucket seats.

And the Dick Lovett one.

They are Pete....They have been slowly dropping ove the last 12 months. Starting at 25k now for car with around 70k plus on. Most are early cars but the cheapest on AT is a 2007 facelift car for 24500 with 71k on the clock. It's black but has some lime green detail on the front spoiler and rear valance and side strakes. Luckily this can come off. Seems to have a good history and condition looks good in the pictures.....and its in Bristol.....Not that I'm a Vanatge stalker or anything...Doesn't matter what the marque these V8 cars are getting harder to sell.
