Well, miles give smiles! Keep them driven not hidden..

Ebay over autotrader/pistonheads for me, both for buying and selling (never found a single car from PH). I will however be listing the car on these forums in addition to the eBay advert, when I get round to it.

Andyk - I can't help but notice your signature. I do dearly miss my supercharged E46 M3... 530hp and all the supporting upgrades. Certainly put a smile on my face nearly as big as the GTS.

Good luck mate. eBay full of time wasters at that price point. Expect offers of £20k today ...

I think the reason AutoTrader is better than Pistonheads is because their App is so good.
There isn’t one (as far as I know) for Pistonheads Classifieds.

Plenty of buyers still don't know PH exists. It's best for specialist stuff like TVRs. Many associate EBay as auction only and for lower end cars or those with issues. Everyone will look on AT so worth paying for.
Writing a comprehensive ad that covers questions buyers would ask and that demonstrates car has been cherished will attract more buyers.

Yeah that is very true. Pistonheads are shockingly behind on the UI. Up until recently, I constantly had problems browsing their desktop site in Safari. It just doesn't give an easy experience.

Have now stuck mine on the forums (here) and AT also.

AT every time for me. It's just easy, and perfect for window shopping (have you seen Macca prices lately? - oof!)

That said, I found my Vantage on PH, where it was being sold by an indie (Schmoo, for you TVR lovers out there), Shmoo said that the commercial terms with PH are much better than AT. As Pete mentioned above, PH is better for more specialist type cars so perhaps PH works just fine for a TVR specialist.

Maybe that's why I got mine for such a good price: an AT ad could have generated far higher demand!

Even Stevie Wonder would notice Andy's signature! It's been said that Andy's signature accounts for over 25% of the data storage and transport costs for this forum. :)

It's to remind me what life used to be like before children Adam.......

Hello again, chaps.

Still flitting in between a GT and something a bit more conventional. But the pendulum has swung toward the GT again and have been browsing all the usual places.

Came across this red MC shift and it caught my eye. I'm not a huge fan of red with the black wheels but it's priced well and has low miles.

Anyone know it?

On the face of it that looks like a great deal, but I would be asking the question as to why it has the stradale rear bumper, and if it was the result of an accident.. other than that and the usual checks it looks good for the price.

Don't know the car but saw it myself when browsing the other day and thought it looked lovely. See they have replaced the back bumper and exhaust with a Stradale one. Bet that wasn't cheap. Would ask the owner why he replaced as sometimes its because of damage and they take the opportunity to upgrade. Not that I'm saying that's why this owner has changed it but worth asking. It does seem good value for the miles I must say.

If you hadn’t taken the jump since looking before then now could be the time...it did take me about 18 months of looking to make the leap on a purchase

I spotted this one you mention whilst having a look on AT the other day.

Based on the description it’s well worth a look as it’s great value given age, mileage, Stradale rear (as long as not hiding damage) and full dealer history.

The only thing stopping me is the red with the black accents. I really think it does the car no favours.

It's in Middlesbrough too, so don't want to travel from the South East to the NE and discover there's something amiss.

Also it seems to have done less than 1,000 miles consistently for the past few years according to the MOT history.

Well worth giving them a call...it seems they’re looking for a quick sale and haven’t got time to mess around so I’d hope they’d be genuine in admitting if it’s had a bump or not.

They could also point out any other niggles but based on full dealer history it would be well worth a look...they listed it on eBay too, says 11k miles to next service (might differ depending on 2 year interval)

Regarding mileage, mine is my daily and I’m doing about 3-4K annually so 1k is understandable if used as a weekend car.

As for distance, sometimes you have to make the trip for the right deal...I went 250 miles each way to get mine!
