Had my first jab ten weeks ago Astra, and felt very tired for a day or two, had my second one yesterday at 6pm, had a couple of paracetamol before bedtime, had the best night's sleep in ages and feel fine today
Good :) I am still feeling the effects of my first from the 25th of March! Effects us all differently still on course to get the second though.

Have you had yours yet?

The target of offering a first COVID vaccine dose to the nine most vulnerable groups by 15 April has been reached, the government has said.Ministers had vowed to offer a COVID-19 jab to all over-50s, the clinically vulnerable and health and social care workers - about 32 million people - by Thursday.
The target - for the whole of the UK - was reached three days early and means adults under 50 will start to be invited for their first jab "in the coming days", Number 10 said.

Pleased to report after having ours yesterday afternoon that we feel no different at all no aches or anything.
I put it down to the fact that we were both really poorly 13 months ago but as we haven't been tested we will never know.
The joy of having the Pharmacist do it was no ques or any hassle.
Just ashame the Bar opposite wasn't open as we could of had a cheeky one to mark the occasion.

I'll be having my second AZ jab in the morning, 11 weeks after the first. I was offered it a couple of weeks ago, but was awy working so had to re-book.

I'm hoping it'll be just as much of a non event as the first, with very little side effects.
My wife had her first 2 weeks ago and was on the sofa for 3 days (VERY unlike her) with zero energy at all.

With our daughter back in nursery, and all the germ spreading that goes on there, we feel much happier now we both have some protection.

My other half has his second AZ a few days ago and felt fine, just a slight headache. Lot better than the first one, when he was quite poorly.

Had the Moderna one yesterday. Manufactured in San Sebastián. Shame it wasn’t Modena.

Took two paracetamol before bed, as some kind soul here recommended. Just a bit achy, but that’s normal at my age I guess.

Imunity is quite interesting - I used to travel a lot and needed a Hep B vaccination - this was a 2 stage vaccine followed by a final blood test at the time. After going through the whole process the Doctor called me to say that he needed to discuss a strange result. Apparently my test had come back as 'naturally immune due to previous infection'!! I was told that this was very unusual, I figured I may have got it whilst laid up with the worst food poisoning ever for 3 days in Russia a couple of years before. I did question why they don't test you before the vaccine process - they said because natural immunity to Hep B is very unusual but it can last for over 30yrs.

So, having figured I had Covid in December 2019 - never been so ill in my life (3 days shot to pieces) - but not tested as it was still 'only' in China at that time although I had mingled with a load of Chinese in Sweden 1 week before - the fact I had zero side effects from the AZ - did I already have immunity????

We will never know I guess but it makes you think

Yeah some things have no rhyme or reason ,I like to think im fit .............................working away in Africa 9 months a year for the last 7 years , big part of what i do is geolological sampling and mineral testing which entails me mostly walking around 20-30Km a day in the bush with a back pack , I smoke 20 plus cigs a day and enjoy just 2 o 3 of them, dont take malaria tablets because they mask the symtoms, had malaria once in 25 years and spent this last 15 months travelling back and forth with over 20 negative tests safely under my belt , Actually got my first vaccine tomorrow at 9am ........not sure what make it is as yet when i spoke with them this morning thye couldnt advise me ......if its AZ then i may well refuse it and wait for another like Phizer to become available .........................ill be well upset if I get a debilitating adverse reaction

Strangely enough I have two friends with similar stories about being at separate UK parties over Christmas 2019 with newly arrived Chinese nationals and both became very ill soon thereafter with what subsequently ticked a lot of Covid symptoms. That English guy who went from Singapore to Italy to the UK in Feb 2020 might be getting too much blame.

Given the number of people who claim they had it here in the UK in 2019, I suspect England must have been the source of the virus.

A lot of people who believe they had Covid in December may be getting confused with a nasty viral infection that was doing the rounds in November/December.
I was unfortunate enough to pick it up when I was at Centre Parcs in December. I felt like death warmed up for a week.

However, that was nothing compared to when I got (suspected) Covid at the end of February, which was far far worse.

Worst I had (not COVID related) was when the dentist messed up my filling and my cheek inflamed like balloon. Didn't eat for 4 days eventually went to infirmary where a surgeon saw it and immediately lay me down and popped it inside my cheek with a scalpel, no anaesthetic, the most pain I've ever experienced, and this huge lump of green, yellow and red gunge spewed out of it and it absolutely stunk, got me wretching but cos I'd not eaten nothing came up. Spat it out and went into shock! Surgeon was cacking himself which didn't inspire confidence.

Yuk!

Today while walking the dog I passed a mobile testing station as I approached I noticed a guy coming to me from 3 o clock - Excuse me sir would you like to have a Covid test - Told him I was vaccinated to which he said -Thats a common misperception that you can t have covid or pass it on just because you are vaccinated . I was thinking all I need is a false positive and I m under house arrest so I declined his offer .
Anyone who thinks we are getting out of this BS soon is deluded IMO How long before there s a new variant which they will claim requires another lockdown and vaccine - but on the positive side the flu deaths are way down if any at all .

Does anyone have any data on whether scientists think that these rare blood clots are a by-product of the vaccination delivery process (eg, just caused by poking a hole in people, or by something in the vaccine package) or whether they are a result of the vaccination itself and the consequent immunisation effect (eg, creating a big increase in antibodies of any kind might be expected to lead to a few blood clots)?
I'm wondering if what we are actually seeing is that the best vaccines (the ones that generate the most immunity reaction) are the ones that very occasionally lead to blood clots, so (if you don't want Covid) you should be demanding (not avoiding) the vaccine with the highest level of (very rare) clotting, to be as safe as possible.
