The trofeo light is the GT race car it is purpose built

The standard trofeo was a coupe modified at the factory for track use in a works amateur racing series.

What do people think of the OZ racing alloys on it?

Now wouldn't that be a joy to own, I wonder what the guide price is. The wheels are a bit out of kilter with the overall design, but it is a racing car so not that important.

It looks brutal, I like it.

The inlet on the other Trofeo I saw was just a cone filter on the end of the inlet so this one is slightly different too.

I like it except for the lump of a rear spoiler. I know it's functional but it's just horrid.

Is it time there was a SM racing team? This car won from the back of the grid in both races at Spa a couple of years back in the British GT series. There was a pair but one has sold already.

Interesting choice to affix it through the rear wing panels rather than more conventionally on struts attached to the boot lid. The finish on the cut outs of the panels leave a lot to be desired. I know it is function over form but it is inelegant.

That’s a Trofeo Light car so a ‘proper’ race car. From what I understand talking to someone who guest drove the normal one make Trofeos, they were setup differently for, ahem, gentlemen drivers whose talent didn’t necessarily match the size of their wallets - so while quick, intentionally ‘safe’ rather than lairy, otherwise they’d all be climbing trees at the first corner. You can kind of see what he means in that YouTube video with the blue car on a track day.

You can pick up Trofeo cars for a lot less than £100k I believe - the guest car is currently up for sale; the yellow Audemars Piguet Car if anyone remembers - but this particular auction car, being a full Trofeo Light, might explain the price tag.
