Anyone else’s wife driven off with the trickle charger still plugged in?

Whilst on the subject of being a completed idiot, on Sunday I distilled some pink detailing spray into a spray bottle to dust off a car once I arrived at a show. I could not figure out why it was really quite rubbish and not working well and blamed my cloth or some contamination. Later I realised I had been attempting to detail my car with longlife coolant!

Re: Complete idiot.
A colleague couldn't find some newly ordered parts in a room, a second colleague told him that they were there as he had placed them there. First colleague swore that he could not find them when he looked. Second colleague then asked him if he did 'a woman's search or a man's search!'.

I later carried out the search with my first colleague and found them straight away. First colleague duly embarrassed.

Ah yes my (female) office manager always asks if I have done 'boy looking' when I cannot find something. She always goes to same cupboard, same shelf and brings said item straight back. Witches I tell you.

Last week, my mother in law asked me to help get her car running. It's been sitting all through lock down.
I arrived at the car before her, and the central locking worked, so I decided to just try to start it up.
Amazingly it fired up almost instantly after 3 months+ I took it out for a quick run.
The brakes were terrible, properly grabbing all the time, horrible, and I couldn't seem to scuff them up, no idea what was going on.

A mile later, I figured it out, I was braking with my left foot!

*In my defense, it's a 2 pedal auto, and I've been playing a LOT of Gran Turismo with 2 pedals recently...

That is a 'Pet' hate of mine!!!..............Just asking for trouble if it is a shared car.
Always do that if on a hill of any kind. And if I remember back to 1989 the driving lesson included always ensure neutral is selected before starting. Nowadays they won't start unless the clutch is depressed so not too much trouble should ensue.

I was always taught to depress the clutch when starting a car anyway.... (3200 excluded!)

Driving the QP DS I forget about the clutch pedal! And I'm feeling round the back of the steering wheel for paddles and there arent any......

My daugher's boyfriend, aged 19 leaves his car in gear when parked up - who does that?

Me for a start, that's how we were taught. Was reminded of it when my son was nearly run over by an empty car in Edinburgh that was only held on the handbrake....or not.

Certainly left the CC in 1. In fact it would beep if you didn't. The GT / ZF clearly wasn't an issue.

I can remember in a few of my fathers Saab's you had to put the car into reverse before you could release the ignition key...........But, we are talking about Saab, they were as mad as a box of Frogs!

Yeah, ignition was on the tunnel as well wasn't it. Anti-theft device.

It's the weirdness tho - me, 59 none of this leaving in gear and steering lock stuff, and there's him, 19, the opposite behaving like my Dad! Makes I larf!.....

I'm mad keen on no clutter in car, they're the opposite, all sorts of cr@p in every bin, hate that.....
