I have always like the Merak. If the mileage is correct it is a crying shame that it's been so under used. Doubtless needs a whole lot of fettling to make it ready for action on a regular basis.

Anyone here know this car and have any intel?

It's an early car with Citroën dash and steering wheel, it seems to have an SS bonnet fitted. It also has the humped engine cover for spare wheel. Later cars had the Bora dash which is more desirable as is the engine cover without the hump.

The problem with the Merak is that the engine is made of chocolate. But they are rather lovely to look at.

Yes this is how I understand it. Sodium valves nightmare apparently.

that's odd, had a look at that in their september auction at Ascot racecourse, hammered down and sold including commission at £62,260, looks like buyer might of withdrawn perhaps or something undisclosed on the car ??
