Mortlake West London, anybody on here?

1 owner, full dealer history, 55k miles, 2011. Would a dealer flag any subframe issues? Or is it a case of ‘they all do that, sir’?

your collective thoughts welcome

The only way is a proper inspection with the car on a lift ideally wheels off too.
Have you checked the MOT history to see if anything has been flagged.
For me too much black.
Good Luck.

I don’t know the car and agree with comments so far, but for a little bit more, less miles and a bit newer, I’d recommend this one;

The prep looks horrific so I’d stand in front of it before deciding to have someone PPI it.

MOT notes are mostly wear and tear, tyres brake pads. It’s had some work done as the calipers have been painted, the wheels colour changed (nothing wrong with that). Last two MOTs say front right tyre worn, so a careful look at the service history would be advisable.

MoT history is the first thing I check.

tyre advisories make me think the owner isn’t a driving enthusiast but more than willing to hand cash over when main dealer asks for it.

my question is how diligent are main dealers? (Obviously they are not as good as Indy specialists)

impossible to say really. The owner might be one that lavished untold sums on all the work the dealer suggested. Then they might not be. The worn tyres for two years suggests the latter. Then there is the question of what was done at the services and if it really is all main dealer.

It doesn’t mean it’s a bad car, but it needs to be looked at.

My QP had worn inners on the mot for quite a few years. It was just the lack of miles between tests and the factory set up that I had reset to 0 when I bought it which prevented any further wear so the tyres were all good until I got around to sticking on Michelins.

If you think it’s a possible car for you, I could pop over for a general look over. It’s only 5 miles and I grew up in Mortlake so know the area well.

As others have said, needs a look to be sure. It has the GTS bodykit on it which is nice but you cannot see if it has memory/heated seats from the photos. Privacy glass is aftermarket so likely film not glass, might bother you might not.

If it has spent it's life in London then sub frame rot likely to be less of an issue.

It says one owner and is a private sale but is the owner the vendor? Unclear. Service light is on as well FWIW which is strange for a car with full Maserati history.

It's got PZEROS it's only worth 20k.

Just ordered new tyres for the Jaaaaaaag as one is down to the cords and I've been waiting for an excuse. The guy at F1 was a little surprised when I declined his P Zeros ;)

Down to the cord

Well not actually the cord but certainly close enough to say 'Change me!'. TBH when they were poking around last week, they noticed nothing so the 500+ miles I've done since were probably enough to go from 'OK' to 'Go shopping'
